What a splendid sight those plucky Tideways were on Saturday at their annual open event, the Tideway Challenge. 22 boats, including visitors, headed out into the harbor to race and came back to a splendid tea at Cobnor and in time to watch the football (hurrah!), followed by a very jolly prizegiving and dinner at the club on a near perfect evening. There was a little less wind for the Sunday club racing but there was a good turnout of sailors for the Summer Series and the Optimist Gold Series.
Fingers crossed for Saturday and more perfect conditions for the Regatta. This event is one of the jewels in the BSC crown and looks set to be a splendid day’s racing so if you haven’t entered already you can do so here.
After a marvelous day, either on or off the water, on Saturday what could be better than partying on the terrace to a steel band with a delicious BBQ with a Caribbean twist? Book here.
