Mmmmm. Short and late. Not sure that’s a brilliant combination – how about better late than never? Apologies for the late delivery of your Newsletter, it really couldn’t be helped…..
Bosham Sailing Club 50/50 Lottery Bonus Draw Friday 13th March at 19:30
Our indefatigable Lottery promoter, Barry Colgate, is VERY excited. It’s Bonus prize time again. This month the bonus prize is a colossal £970 and there are also the 3 usual monthly prizes totalling £185 so that’s over £1,000 to be won this Friday. 13 is going to be a very, very lucky number for one ticket holder. The odds of winning are better than 150 to 1, loads and loads better than other lottery draws we could mention. How brilliant to help yourself and the Club at the same time! You know you want to join this lottery so have a look on the Club website at the lottery page or just email email@example.com and if you do this lickety split, you will be eligible for the next bonus quarter which will be drawn in June. And as Friday 13th March is not only Lottery day but also RED NOSE DAY, you could find that some people will be sporting a large red hooter. And why not bring that old red nose to have supper with the last of our guest caterers, after the draw?
Supper at Bosham Sailing Club Friday 13th March
We are delighted to welcome Sam Howley to the kitchen on Friday. For some time Sam has cooked for cold, hungry skiers who want some delicious food at the end of their energetic day. And as we would like some delicious food at the end of our week full stop, it would seem that Friday will be very successful. How about this for a menu…..
Braised duck legs with red wine, ginger and star anise served with gratin dauphinoise £11.50
Cod cakes in tomato sauce served with herbed giant couscous £11.50
Apple and mixed berry crumble with vanilla ice cream £3.90
Chocolate Mousse £3.90
Cheese Plate £5.00
How can you resist that? After you’ve spent all day raising money for Red Nose Day, you’ll deserve a slap up meal, so ….. reservations are essential and should be made by Thursday 12th noon at the latest. Please email your menu choice to firstname.lastname@example.org
Six Nations Rugby at the Club Saturday 14th March 17:00
On the big screen, the Calcutta Cup, England versus Scotland, rose versus thistle. In the comfort of your own Club, you can shout and applaud and drink beer and have a go at the results sweepstake that one particular club member is VERY good at forecasting. And who knows, not only could England win, you could win the sweepstake and as you’re at the Club you could win £500 on the weekly draw. All you have to do is be a paid up Club member and be in the bar at happy hour at 19:30! How easy is that?!
Will be available as usual from the bar and if the Club consumption of cheesy chips are anything to go by, there will soon be a shortage of potatoes in West Sussex!
The sailing season is nearly upon us. Hurrah. DutyMan is up and running and thank you to everybody who has already signed up and indeed to those who have already done a duty. If you haven’t yet signed up, please do so in the next week as after that, duties will be allocated to you rather than you choosing which ones you’d like to do. Some absolutely vital duties have just been added. These are for sandwich making for the Junior Regatta which kicks off the sailing season on Friday 3rd April. We know that not everybody sails and therefore a Race Officer job is not for them, but please do not underestimate the importance of having a scrumptious tea when you come off the water. And we need people to do that as well as ARO’s and race recorders etc. In actual fact all duties can be a lot of fun and it’s a great way to meet people. So come on you Regatta Tea Makers – sign up via DutyMan or if you have any problem using it, email the office on email@example.com and we’ll put you on from here.
