House and Events Newsletter
New Year’s Eve Party
This is definitely on. We have booked a band and there will be food, music and dancing. Please book with the office. The price will be £24 per head. More details to follow, so watch this space.
We continue to seek to improve the ambiance and effectiveness of the Clubhouse.
We continue to acquire new images for the new changing facilities and the first floor generally. We should shortly be acquiring more mirrors for the changing rooms and a hairdryer for the gent’s changing room. We will be freshening up the area behind the bar and we already have two new tills, which face the customer.
The Marquee and the Dining Room
This is all part of making sure that the club is used to the fullest possible extent all through the year. The Marquee is available to book for functions and the West Room for meetings. We are particularly grateful to Peter and Lucy Snell for the magnificent new blue carpet in the Marquee and we will shortly be able to use the rest of the same carpet partially to carpet the Dining Room. We have also rehung the curtains on the Marquee side of the Dining Room and will shortly work on the noise reduction project.
The Club Bar
On drinks, we have reviewed all our prices and have been aligned to a consistent margin. We now have a new French sparkling wine Kraemer at £11.95 per bottle as a special promotional price, with Red Card Discount.
We have also been able to reduce the price of the fruit juice drinks to £1.50 and will be switching to OJ. Wednesday is ‘Double Diamond Night’ with a double discount of 20% on drinks from 18.00-21.00.
We have also started cocktails, with the first one being a Dark and Stormy at £2.40 including Red Card Discount. If you fancy a Bloody Mary of a Sunday morning, these will be available at the same price. Remember ‘Better by the Bottle’, as it is generally cheaper to drink wine in the Club by the bottle rather than the glass.
On catering, Sunday lunches have been re-introduced and we continue with our regular weekly Friday Club dinners and the Quiet Dinner every other Thursday.
We plan more music. A date for your diaries is Friday 18 November, when Jane Uphill will be bringing her band, the Dell Keys, for some after dinner music and dancing.
Lost Property Sale
This will be held from 10.00-12.00 on Saturday 3rd December 2016 and will be an opportunity for you to buy and the Club to sell, the many items of lost and abandoned property accumulated over the last year or so.
Children’s Christmas Party
This will be held on Sunday 18th December 2016 in the afternoon. More information to follow.
