The jewel in the crown that is BSC’s Regatta shone brightly on Saturday with a massive turnout of boats and over 300 teas served. We were proud to welcome visitors from across the Harbour who enjoyed a splendid event which showcased the spirit of the Club and was generously sponsored by Hamptons International Estate Agents. Due to the now familiar lack of wind, the starts were postponed whilst boats were towed or battled their way up to the committee boat.
The evocative sound of steel drums helped to create a great party atmosphere at the Caribbean night, for those not too exhausted after such a busy day. A delicious spicy buffet supper was followed by dancing on the terrace as the sun set on a beautiful evening to the magical rhythm of the steel trio.
The coming week sees a full timetable of training in RS Fevas. Then Friday is the Sunset and Tideset series of races. Something for everyone.
Saturday is the Bosham Church Fete 2-4pm on the Green so do support, enjoy and visit our stall, it’s all in a good cause. We currently have Stand Helper duties now available on Duty Man – your help is very much appreciated.
This week’s menus can be found on the Club website here.
Don’t forget Light Bites and Sharing Platters are now available 12-2pm Wednesday – Saturday by ordering at the bar.
Help wanted this weekend
We are still short of a Race Officer and two Power Boat Crew for Sunday. Duties can be found via Duty Man. Once again, you help is hugely appreciated.
Dinghy Park Thefts
Unfortunately, we have recently had a theft from the Dinghy Park when a piece of hired machinery was stolen. It is believed that this occurred during the day and the offender(s) drove into the DP in a Ford Transit having already had a look in the Club containers.
Please therefore be extremely vigilant, if you see anything that appears unusual or out of place please contact one of the Club staff immediately. The CCTV has been extremely useful and we are currently working with the police to identify the offender(s).
On a separate issue please do not under any circumstances remove ANYTHING from the Club boats. Over the past few weeks circlips and various other items have been removed and one incident resulted in a Club Bahia being dismasted in the harbour. This kind of incident could risk injury to young sailors. The area around the Club boats will now be covered by CCTV and any offenders will be dealt with appropriately.
