Where’s the time gone? Rush, rush, haste, rush, haste. Apparently the BSC newsletter has soporific qualities and if it doesn’t appear before bedtime on Tuesdays, there are a lot of cross Club members on Wednesdays as they haven’t had anything to read to send them to sleep the night before.

Hurrah. Johnnie will be back from his holiday in time for this week’s Friday evening supper at BSC. We are very grateful to Jeff for stepping in to cater last week but this weekend, normal, delicious service will be resumed. The menu is:

Persian Chicken (Sweet & spicy chicken breast on a fruity rice bed) £9.50

A Conversation with Rebecca Stephens MBE, Saturday 21st May 18:00 for 18:30
Rebecca is a BSC member and she has kindly agreed to come along to the Club on Saturday to give what promises to be, a fascinating interview. Our R/C House writes:
“A conversation with Rebecca Stephens MBE”, Skier, explorer and mountaineer, Rebecca is a member of the Club and the first British woman to summit on Mount Everest. She is also a serial climber of the world’s 7 highest peaks. Rebecca is an author and television presenter and lives in West Sussex. This promises to be a lively and entertaining evening.
The talk is free and supper will be available afterwards from approximately 20:00. The menu and cost of the meal will be available in the next couple of days. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to attend this event.
BSC Draw Saturday 21st May 19:30
So you’ve been enthralled by the places that Rebecca’s talk has taken you to, now you had better stay for the draw because if you win this, it could pay for a large part of your holiday. The draw stands at £330 and you just need to be at the Club at 19:30 on Saturday to be in with a chance of winning.
Sunday Roast 22nd May
They’re back!!! The Sunday before Johnnie went off on his holiday, the Club restaurant was seen to be filled with people licking their lips as they polished off the most delicious roast lunch. And this Sunday, lunch will be served from approximately 13:00 so come along and enjoy.

Bosham Masters and Chichester Scow National Championship 10th – 12th June
Come along now. You know that you’ve printed out the application form for this event and you know that you want to be part of this great weekend. All it needs now is a teensy bit of effort on your part TO ACTUALLY FILL IN THE ENTRY FORM and return it by 29th May because after that the entry fee goes up. Bosham Junior Week 2016
Later this week, you should see via the website and an email alert, that on-line booking for BJW16 is live. There is major work going on behind the scenes to try to ensure that this launch goes as smoothly as possible – so no, the BJW link is not yet live, but it will be shortly.
The Club AGM was held last Saturday and due to retirements, some new Flag Officers were elected. Full details and contact information for these Rear Commodores can be found on the Who’s Who section of the Club website and they all look forward to your support in their new roles.
Mike Whittle’s talk on Navigation through the Ages was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended and the marquee went up, thanks to a number of roughty toughty members who volunteered via DutyMan, ready for some of our summer events.
