We’ve had the jollity of Junior Week and our umbrellas have been over used during our summer holidays but now it’s CLASSIC BOAT REVIVAL time! Yippee! This is a national event and classic boats come from all over the country to take part in Bosham Sailing Club’s Classic Boat Revival – so prepare to be involved and enthralled.
Classic Boat Revival Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September
If you were on the Quay last Saturday, you would have seen 34 Classic Dayboats on the start line. It was wonderful to be part of the racing and spectacular to watch from the shore. So just imagine the same sort of scene, but on a bigger, national scale. Already we have boats arriving from all over the country and on Saturday, Quay Meadow and the Quay will be filled with boats of designs that would be familiar to people watching the same spectacle in the 1950’s and 60’s and earlier. Many of these boats are originals and they have been lovingly restored and maintained by owners who like nothing more than a fantastic weekends sailing from beautiful Bosham. And even if you haven’t got a Classic Boat, you can still get involved. Please go to DutyMan (or phone the Office) and sign up as a Power Boat Driver or Power Boat Crew and you’ll get a grandstand-on-the-water view of this amazing event. For all CBR information, please go to www.boshamsailingclub.com and click on the wonderful CBR poster for all further details.
