The Bosham Sailing Club Children’s Party and Cadet Disco happen this Saturday 25th October. How frightened can you be? If you come to the club from 4pm on Saturday, make sure that you have taken plenty of brave pills before you arrive. There will be ghastly ghouls, wicked witches, weird wizards and plenty of pumpkins to scare and delight you. And then at 21.00 hrs the same evening, it’s the dastardly devilish disco for older cadets. Be scared, be very scared.
A reminder to all of us who use our great launch Emma, that her last working day for this year will be Sunday 26th October. She’s taken out of the water to rest her weary bones and to have a makeover ready for the start of next year’s racing.
Dinghy Park Offer
Below is an idea that a cadet member of Bosham Sailing Club has for raising money for a charity that they support. It’s well worth having a read and maybe you can give your boat a little extra treat this winter. Please click on the following link
RYA Yachtmaster Theory Course
We have a few places left on this course. It will take place at the Club house and run for 16 weeks, every Thursday evening commencing 6th November between 19:00 and 21:30 hrs. The course fee of £240 will include The Student Pack, Portland Plotter and Dividers etc. If you’re keen to be qualified, please sign up by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you so much to everybody who has carried out duties of all sorts this year, including building, cooking, landscape maintenance (i.e. dinghy park clear up!) and all those duties at sea. Without you, our Sailing Club would be a poorer place. And to those people, who haven’t yet had the chance to do a duty, are you free to hep out this weekend. On Saturday 25th October we need 2 x Power Boat Drivers and 1 x Power Boat Crew and on Sunday 26th October we need 1 x Assistant Race Officer, 1 x Race Recorder , 2 x Power Boat Drivers and 1 x Power Boat Crew . As ever, please sign up on Duty Man or email email@example.com - and thank you again.
Remembrance Service 9th November
On this very important day, the Church service at Bosham will be held at 10.50 a.m. We hope that many of the congregation will come to the Club for coffee after the service and in order to accommodate those who want to attend the service AND sail, there will be ONE race only per fleet, starting at 13.00 and 13.10.This is a change to the published race time in the Red Book. We will remind all you roughty toughty sailors again next week.
Laying Up Service Sunday 16th November
As you know, this is another very important date in our calendar and we hope that everybody who attends this Service will also come to the club afterwards for coffee. The bar will also be open.
Thank you very much to all those hundreds of people who have already replied to our data request. For those who have yet to reply, please remember that the closing date is 23rd October.
Members and Ruby Members and New Members Party 1st November
Goodness, you are party goers! We’ve had such a fantastic response to our invitation that we have now had to close the guest list. We look forward to seeing you all on 1st November when we will drink, eat and have a very splendid time.
JoJo Barnett Cooked
Not quite as dramatic as it reads, but last Friday at the Club, we had a delicious supper cooked for us by JoJo Barnett, sous chefed by Christopher Barnett and served by a team of 3 led by cadet member, Miranda Grant. We wined and dined and spoofed and a great time was had by all who attended.
