For everybody who has the misfortune not to be in Bosham today – the sky is blue and cloudless, the sun is warm and shining, and the water, at high tide now, is silver and sparkly. Lucky, lucky us.
Fabulous Friday 24th April at BSC
Women on the Water
Well, to start with we have our second Women on Water session. Judging from the feedback last week, this year’s course is going to be just as zingy as last years. These sessions are open to all abilities and you can either sail in the Club boats or use your own boat. The sessions are on Friday mornings running from 09:00 for a prompt 09:30 start and finishing at 13:00. Please email email@example.com if you’d like to come along.
Then we are doing some sailing with Oakwood School and following that we have the first of the –
Optimist Friday Nights
Do you remember how much you all enjoyed these evenings last year? The first session is this Friday 24th April and it follows pretty much the same format as last year except for the fact that you can pay session by session. HOWEVER the quid pro quo is that you must email firstname.lastname@example.org by the WEDNESDAY before the session you want to sail in, so we can ensure that we have a sufficient number of trainers, otherwise you run the risk of being disappointed. And don’t forget that the famous Oppy BBQ will be available from 17:00.
And talking of food –
Breeze’s Brilliant Food at Bosham Sailing Club.
This Friday 24th April, Breeze are having an Italian Evening. So your menu is:
Penne Siciliana (aubergine, garlic, mozzarella, tomatoes. Suitable for vegetarians) £9.75
Spaghetti Bolognese £9.75
(The prices above include the Antipasti course)
Tiramisu with a shot of Limoncello £3.95
Please remember that your reservations and choice of main course must be made by emailing email@example.com by Thursday 23rd April.
Come on You Parents
Does your child or children sail a Feva, Topper or Mirror or even all three? On Saturday 25th April, it’s your chance to be demystified! The three Class Captains have organised a shore based get-to-know-your-child’s-boat session that will take place on Quay Meadow on Saturday, starting at 13:00 and finishing at 15:00. If you arrive early, there will be a BBQ on the Terrace so you can have a brunch before exercising your brain. For further information, please contact the Class Captains.
Hah! That’s stumped you didn’t it? GAIS is “Get Afloat in Safety” and this means that if you’d like to get out on the water in your boat, but are a bit nervous about being unattended, then from 15:00 until 18:00, the Club will be providing safety boat cover in the area between the Raptackle and Cutmill for those people who like company when they sail!
You really can’t miss this. Do you know that it’s up to a colossal £560! And all you have to do to win this, is to be at your Club on Saturday evening at 19:30 when you’ll have had the opportunity of having had a happy hour of happy hour bar prices.
Sunday 26th April sees Club racing, provided that somebody signs up on DutyMan for Race Officer and when you come off the water, don’t forget that you can get Breeze’s Brilliant Bar Snacks until at least 15:00 or why not stay to enjoy Sunday lunch?
Breeze’s Brilliant Sunday Lunch
Roast Chicken including all the trimmings £12.50 (inc soup)
Please make your reservation by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org by 17:00 on Friday evening.
Don’t forget that at the weekends, Breeze serve hungry sailor’s snacks at your sailing club from 09:00 until after racing.
We had a great start to the Classic Dayboat racing season although some member’s memories are clearly as rusty as their racing skills!
We had a fantastic time at the Members Reception last Saturday – what a buzz there is in the Club now and very many thanks to all the members who have written such kind emails to the Office.
