So what’s been happening? We’ve had a week of wonderful sailing weather (gone), we’ve had rugby world cup on the big screen (England gone – not great) we’ve had the first film night (gone but great) and it’s the Club Monthly Lottery Draw on Friday (not gone – but very exciting)
Club Monthly Lottery Draw
You KNOW you want to be part of this excitement. And it’s very easy to join. All you have to do is email firstname.lastname@example.org and bob’s your uncle, as this is a 50/50 lottery, you’ll be helping your Club and you’ll be in with a chance of helping yourself win some welcome cash. Although you don’t have to be at the Club to win these prizes, it’s always great fun so why not come down to your Club at 19:30 on Friday 9th October and see who the lucky lottery winners are this month.
And having done that, you’ll be hungry, so stay for supper with your friends. This week’s
Chunky Beef Chilli, with garlic or plain French bread, £8.95
Saffron & Coriander Chicken with crème fraiche, minted peas & new potatoes £9.95
Goats cheese & tomato tartes £7.95
Banoffee Pie £3.95
Selection of cheeses £3.95
As usual, bookings should be made by emailing email@example.com by 17:00 on Thursday 8th October.
The Club’s weekly draw now stands at £150 and is drawn at 19:30 each Saturday evening. You HAVE to be at the Club to win this prize, but it’s no great hardship as you can enjoy Happy Hour between 18:30 and 19:30. Go on, give it a go.
Help! Powerboat Drivers Needed
Can you help? We need 1 Powerboat Driver for racing on Saturday 10th October and 1 Powerboat Driver for racing on Sunday 11th October. If you can help, would you either sign up via DutyMan or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you.
New Telephone Number for the Club Launch
The number for the Club Launch has changed to 07497 924428
Unfortunately there is no WOW course this Friday 9th October. Normal service is resumed next week!
RYA PB2 Training
Believe it or not, now is the time to get your RYA Powerboat Level 2 qualification or RYA PB2 Safety qualification. It may well be raining (actually it’s monsooning rather than raining) but it’s not cold (yet) and this is really a great time to be out on the water. And an RYA PB2 qualification is essential if you’re ever going to want to hire a motorboat when you’re abroad or if you want to get any sort of instructor qualification.
We are running courses on the following dates:
PB2 October 17th & 18th (2 places only available)
PB2 Safety Boat October 24th & 25th (2 places only and you must have RYA PB2 to do this course)
PB2 Safety Boat November 7th & 8th (1 place only and you must have RYA PB2 to do this course)
PB2 November 14th & 15th (1 place only available)
PB2 November 21st & 22nd (1 place only available)
The cost is £150 for members per course and to book your place please email email@example.com as soon as possible.
Save the Days
One of the most useful of these StD’s is going to be BSC’s cheekily charming Christmas Craft and Design Market. Your Club will be filled with fantastic, unusual gifts, all made or designed by local people. It’s on Friday 20th November, from 10a.m. until 5p.m. and just think – no more high street crush! More information to follow.
Scottish Dancing is on Wednesday 14th October
Sew Don’t Throw will be back at the Club on 20th October
More on these next week.
As per last week’s newsletter, please do be aware that some staff are now taking leave and so although the office will try to be open as usual, there may be an odd occasion when the office will need to close early.
