Day 5 - Final

Just as with the Solo Nationals at HISC last week, it went all the way to the protest room and the eventual winners of the 2013 National 18 Championship for the Ultimate/Penultimate fleet are: Tom Dwyer, Peter Hassett and Willie Healy of the Royal Cork YC . . . Winners of the National 18 Championship for the Classic/ChiHarbour and Penultimate NT fleet are: Colman Garvey, Roy Darrer and Brian Heneghan also of the Royal Cork YC

Day 4

National 18 Open 2013

A new winner in the Ultimate/Penultimate fleet on day 4 of the National 18 class championships. Stuart Urquhart, Richard Urquhart and Ross Young  of the Royal Findhorn YC won races 7 and 8 . . . With event leaders Tom Dwyer, Peter Hassett and Willie Healy second in the first and Colin St.John Barry, Andrew Moynihan and Peter Stokes of the Monkstown Bay SC second in race 8.

Colman Garvey, Roy Darrer and Brian Heneghan from Royal Cork YC, extended their winning streak with two more victories, making it six race wins in a row, in the Classic, ChiHarbour and Penultimate NT fleet. In second place overall are Tom Reid, Mimie Currey and Nick Phillips of Bosham SC.

Day 3

Back to back wins for the leaders in both fleets of the National 18 classes on a beautiful day in Hayling Bay, that allowed these glorious boats to stretch their legs. Tom Dwyer, Peter Hassett and Willie Healy of the Royal Cork YC extend their lead of the Ultimate/Penultimate fleet . . . And Colman Garvey, Roy Darrer and Brian Heneghan also from Royal Cork YC, making it four race wins in a row in the Classic, ChiHarbour and Penultimate NT fleet.

Day 2

Tom Dwyer, Peter Hassett and Willie Healy of the Royal Cork YC keep their lead of the Ultimate/Penultimate fleet by two points despite not winning either race on Day 2. Winner of race 3 were Colin St.John Barry, Andrew Moynihan and Peter Stokes of the Monkstown bay SC and winner of race 3 were Martin Cruden, Ali Davis and Phil Hermiston, Royal Findhorn YC . . . A new leader for the Classic/ChiHarbour and Penultimate NT fleet with Colman Garvey, Roy Darrer and Brian Heneghan from Royal Cork YC winning races 3 and 4 Tuesday, while former leader Brian Hoolahan was OCS in race 3 and fourth in race 4.

Day 1

Tom Dwyer, Peter Hassett and Willie Healy of the Royal Cork YC lead The Ultimate/Penultimate fleet by just one point after the first two races of the National 18 Championships at HISC . . . Leaders of the Classic/ChiHarbour and Penultimate NT fleet are Brian Hoolahan, Tim Reynolds and Ian Hoolahan from Bosham SC . . .
