Cadet Committee
BSC is fortunate in having a long history of Cadet participation in the Club and at the heart of this is the Cadet Committee. It is headed by Alice Carruthers, Cadet Captain and a Vice-Captain who are elected each year by their peers during the course of Junior Week after a hard-fought election campaign! The aims of the 24-strong Cadet Committee are:
- Each member to take an active role in the club
- Take part in club sailing events
- Encourage the younger cadets in their sailing
- Run social events for the younger cadets
- Assist in the running of Junior Week
Message from R/C Cadets
I hope this gives you a flavour of what goes on at BSC.
Our aim is to encourage our Cadets’ sailing through our racing, training and social calendar and instil a love of the sport that will stay with them as they grow up and take off to sail at their universities and throughout their adult lives.
You won’t be surprised that many of our grown ‘Cadets’ return to BSC very regularly and bring their own Cadets to join us!
Please Note: Cadets who sail in the Club Fast Handicap Series need to have a declaration signed by parent or guardian before they may compete. Download a copy of the Parental & Medical Form here or ask at the Office.
