Hello everybody. It’s newsletter time again. So what has been happening at your Club and what is going to happen? The answer to both is LOTS.
Dinghy Supper
Calling all Finn, Laser (of all types!), Kestrel, Wayfarer, RS, Albacore, Devon Yawl, Fairey Falcon and other sailors. This is your last chance to buy your tickets for the dangerously, devilishly delightful, Dinghy supper on 22nd November. Delicious food, old friends and prizes – who wouldn’t want to be there? All for the very reasonable price of £15 per head. Please see Club website for further details and an application form or book directly through the Office.
Club Lottery
You could be richer at 19.31 hrs on Friday 14th November – but ONLY if you have bought a Club lottery ticket. You may win some money, but you will definitely help your club if you go to the Club website and see all the details there about how to buy one or more of these tickets. Just think what you could do with some winnings – go to the dinghy supper, go to a German Christmas market, buy more beer or donate it all to Children in Need. The possibilities are endless.......
Quiz Night
Question. When is a Saturday 31st January 2015 evening, not a usual Saturday 31st January 2015 evening? Answer. When it’s a Jono Prosser fun filled, lateral thinking, useless-information-useful Quiz evening! More details to follow, but save the date.
First Aid Course
You know you’ve always MEANT to sign up for a First Aid Course, but never got around to it because you’ve been too busy, or the course is too far away, or people are coming to stay, or some other perfectly valid reason. Well, this weekend 15th and 16th November, at Bosham Sailing Club, is the perfect time to do this vital course. Now you have children or grand children or you’re more active on the water or you’ve got elderly friends or relatives, you need to do this course. Successful completion of this course also gives you an RYA qualification. Please see the Club web site for further details.
Laying Up Service
This lovely Service will be held in Bosham Church on Sunday 16th November at 9.30am. This is an opportunity to reflect on a good season’s sailing before our boats are put away for the winter. Everybody is welcome and we hope that you will all join us afterwards at Bosham Sailing Club for tea, coffee and biscuits.
Locals Supper
We had a successful first locals night supper at the Club last Thursday when rather a lot of bell ringers joined rather a lot of Yachtmaster theory students, to enjoy Andy and Rosie’s delicious supper. It is reported that the conversation was musical and studious.
Remembrance Day Service
Many Club members joined the congregation of Bosham Church for this very important service last Sunday. And it was lovely to see so many of the congregation, both members and non members, back at the Clubhouse afterwards for tea and coffee laid on by Mark and his team.
Miranda’s Marvellous Meals
And lastly, but of course not really last, the menu for Friday when your multi-tasking Rear Commodore House, will once again be cooking a delicious dinner for diners. So make an evening of it – come to see who wins the lottery prizes and then tantalise your taste buds with a choice from the following menu:
Thai Shiitake Chicken with roasted winter vegetables - £10.50
Italian Garden Lasagne and salad - £9.50
Bread & Butter pudding with raspberry coulis - £3.90
Lemon Potts - £3.90
Cheese & Biscuits - £3.90
Can people please book on my email this week - miranda.powley@btinternet.com
Lucky us who can be here to dine and poor you who are away at University or otherwise engaged, who are going to miss out.
Regards
