Bosham is proud to be hosting the International Optimist Class Association (IOCA) winter training for the second year running. This is testament to the strength of our Bosham Oppie fleet who are one of the strongest fleets on the South coast. After two windy training week-end’s, Sunday started off wet and windy but the young Oppie sailors were not deterred and were determined to sail. The wind dropped, and the sun came out. We had 18 happy Oppie sailors on the water in early December and they all came back happy and smiling.

From Our Commodore:
Chichester Harbour Federation (ChiFed)
ChiFed is the organisation which co-ordinates representation of sailing clubs and marine related organisations in Chichester Harbour. BSC has been a member since ChiFed existed. ChiFed is annually responsible for organising the biggest sailing regatta in Chichester Harbour - Federation Race Week, which next year takes place 19th to 23rd August - the place to be if you want keen competition and serious trophies!
At the ChiFed AGM on 1st December 2018, BSC’s President, Nick Fox, stood down from a 5-year stint as Chairman of ChiFed. Nick’s service in this role represented BSC as a key part of life in the Harbour and we thank him for his service which reflected very well on our Club.
Simon Radford, immediate past Commodore of BSC, has agreed to fulfil the office of the ChiFed Youth Co-ordinator. In that role as a member of our Club, Simon will be continuing the ChiFed aspiration of developing youth sailing and on-water activity in Chichester Harbour, also key objectives at BSC. Volunteering for this role is a further demonstration of Simon’s dedication to all aspects of youth activity and to his encouragement of others in the sport he loves.
Congratulations and thanks to Nick and Simon for their service.
