Without further ado and with great excitement, please read the announcement below.
Sport England Lottery Funding for BSC
You may recall that at the AGM earlier this year our Commodore, Simon Radford, announced that the Club were in the process of putting together a bid to Sport England for lottery funding which would give the Club the opportunity to totally overhaul and upgrade the toilet and changing facilities on the first floor. Lottery funding is available to all sports, not just sailing, and over 500 Clubs across the country applied for funding.
We are delighted to announce that Bosham Sailing Club has been selected as one of just 150 Clubs which were successful and will receive a grant of £75,000. This is fantastic news and we will keep you informed over the coming weeks/months about this project which will be completed over the winter months between late December 2015 and mid-March 2016.
This is amazing and will make such a wonderful difference to the Club. A few people have worked extremely hard to get this grant and they are owed a huge vote of thanks. As more information becomes available, this will be posted on the Club website and in the newsletter. In the meantime, you’ll see announcements of this funding in the yachting magazines, in newspapers and hear about it on local radio which is all fantastic, positive publicity for the Club. Yippee.
So that’s our really big news and here’s the rest.

Hallowe’en Disco and Children’s Party
October is speeding along in a whirl of Rugby World Cup matches being screened at the Club but soon it will be that spooky weekend.
The Cadet Hallowe’en disco will be on Friday 30th October from 21:00 until midnight (of course!) and the Hallowe’en Children’s party which is always a great success with all manner of little ghosts and ghouls attending, will be on Sunday 1st November in the afternoon. Tickets, which should be bought in advance, are available from the bar and there is further information on both these events on the Club website.
Christmas Craft and Design Fair Friday 20th November 10:00 – 17:00
This event is going to be a fantastic solution to Christmas present buying. It is being widely advertised in and around the harbour and it should be a great occasion. It will certainly be a civilised way to shop AND you’ll be supporting local businesses.
So that’s it for now……….. apart from noting that we have a serious contender for the BSC Plongeur of the year award. And if you happen to be a markedly good, medium handicap Classic Dayboat sailor, you may know who you are.
