Bart’s Bash Sunday 18th September
The Club racing shown in the Red Book has been superseded by the Bosham Sailing Club, 3 Creeks Challenge, that is going to be sailed in aid of Bart’s Bash, which is the charity of the Andrew Simpson Foundation. This is always great fun and raced locally around the 3 creeks here in Chichester Harbour. So the Fast handicap fleet will go to the Emsworth channel, the Medium fleet will go to Thorney channel and the Slows and Tideways and Scows will race in the Bosham channel. All racing on this day will count towards the appropriate series races. All starts will be from the Quay. The Optimists will operate as usual from Quay Meadow and sail around Cutmill. And don’t forget that any racing that is done on this day, will be one of your qualifying races for Junior Week 2017. It is suggested that a donation of £5 to Bart’s Bash, would be great if you’re going to go racing.
And there will be breakfast available to lure you down nice and early. This week it will be bacon or sausage rolls and then there will be a barbecue going from midday until mid-afternoon after which there will be PRIZE Giving and trophies will be awarded.
If you don’t sail, but still want to be part of the event, then we are still looking for helpers to act as assistant race officer or race recorder and power boat driver and crews. If the weather is fine, by helping out, then you’ll have a grandstand view of day’s action. Please sign up via DutyMan or call the Office.
Keep an eye on the Club website at www.boshamsailingclub.com and click on the Bart’s Bash homepage slide, for all the up-to-date information.
The cruisers are also doing their bit as well. They are going to have an informal race back from Beaulieu where they are going to have their last rally of the season and more information is available in the cruiser section of the Club website.

Monday Club Visit to Bosham Sailing Club Monday 19th September
The Bosham Monday Club’s annual visit to go out on the water and have tea in our Clubhouse, happens on Monday (unsurprisingly!) This event is led by our Cruiser section and they are looking for some volunteers to help make this another great success. They need your help making sandwiches and serving tea and coffee from 13:00 until 16:30ish or if you’d like to harness your inner baker, any cakes made can be delivered to the Club on Monday morning. And if there are volunteers who can take our visitors out to the Cobnor Chairboat and help them board, then that assistance will also be gratefully received. If you can help in any way, then please email firstname.lastname@example.org
The Classic Boat Revival was brilliant. Two completely contrasting days, the Saturday very, very, very windy but still some excellent sailors went out and Sunday was champagne sailing in sunshine and a breeze. There are pictures up on the Club website in the Classic Boat Revival section. Well done to everybody involved.
