We’re moving. Well, that got your attention! It’s not as bold as it sounds – we are just going to have a tidy-up of the Club office, which is long overdue and will result in us being hyper efficient (?) (and more importantly, the person who is the only one in the office who doesn’t have a sea view, will at last, get one) Anyway, the nett result is, that this week, your newsletter is early and short. A result for some, but perhaps not for those kind people who emailed to say that they enjoyed the newsletter as it is. And just for the next two days (Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18thFebruary, would you email the Club rather than phone if you need to contact us? We will respond as soon as we can.
So reminders for this week are:
First Aid Course 23rd February and 2nd March
Mandy Stirrup is running a First Aid Course, mainly for BSC Office staff on these 2 Mondays. The course takes place from 09:00 until 13:30 on both days and costs £30 for members and £40 for non-members. There are only 3 places left and they will be filled on a first come first served basis. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like a space reserved on this course. Mandy has also indicated that she would be prepared to run a Cadet only First Aid course in the Easter holidays if there was enough interest. This would be in the same 2 half days format and the cost will be confirmed if the training is to take place. Again please use the email address above if you’re interested and she will see if a course is viable.
Dicks Friday Evening Talk 20th February 18:00
This is one NOT to miss and as always, these talks are open to all. It’s entitled “Overview of Racing Rules” and as we all use the rules (even if it’s to shriek port or starboard) then this is sure to be a popular evening. And as we’re having a Rules Quiz evening later on in the year, then get in early, swot up with Dick and win the quiz! Or something along those lines. Anyway, if you would like to attend Dick’s talk, please email email@example.com
“Sailing Accidents – Investigations and Lessons” Saturday 28th February 18:00 for 18:30
Whether you capsize in your Finn, Yachting World Dayboat or the Hoegh Osaka, you will all be fascinated with this talk by Roger Brydges of the Marine Accident Investigation Branch which will be held at the Club on the evening of the 28th February. Roger has many years of experience investigating all sorts of incidents and this is going to be one of the most interesting talks we’ve had at the Club. There is no charge for this but why not stay on for supper afterwards? If you would like to attend please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Saturday Night Draw
Who could resist the opportunity of winning £470 for doing nothing apart from taking part in Happy Hour at Bosham Sailing Club? And at the same time discover that you can buy baby bottles of perfect Prosecco which are just the right size for a pre-prandial treat.
RYA Powerboat Level 2 March 7th & 8th
This is really our first training course of the season so if you would like to reserve your places on this course, please email email@example.com as soon as possible.
