Senior Week 17th,18th,19th June
There will be great fun at the Club on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week, when those members who don’t meet the age criteria for Junior Week, take to the harbour, for a spot of slightly – older – persons racing. With a good forecast, an excellent race team and organiser, this promises to be a seriously sensational Senior Week. There is still time to enter the racing. And if you would like to enjoy this event from the water, why not sign up to be a Power Boat Driver or a Crew?
Bosham Sailing Club Regatta 4th July
This is our Club biggy! It’s our premier sailing event of the year and the time to enter is NOW. It’s taking the organisational skills of a UN diplomat doing a seating plan for dinner for every country in the world, but your R/C Dinghies is doing a sterling job and you can help her by going to DutyMan and signing up for a duty. In particular we need Power Boat Drivers and Crew and this is a great opportunity to be out on the water if you decide that you don’t want to race that day. For further details go to www.boshamsailingclub.com
We’ve had a good increase in the number of people who are signing up to do duties at the Club and a really big thank you to everybody who has made it possible for the club to function and enabled people to go sailing. We do though have some vacancies on DutyMan in the near future. Can you help? If you can, either sign up via DutyMan or if that’s proving a bit difficult, please telephone the Club office and you can be signed up that way.
Sunbeams at Bosham
Anybody who was lucky enough to be standing on the Club terrace last Thursday, would have been treated to the spectacular sight of 18 Sunbeams beating their way up the channel to BSC. Bosham was hosting a supper for them and Peter Nicholson reports that the evening was a huge success and our hospitality much appreciated.
One lucky Bosham Sailing Club lottery ticket holder won over £1000 in the Quarterly Lottery draw. For further information on how to help your Club and buy your tickets, please click on this link https://www.boshamsailingclub.com/lottery/
Congratulations to all the Bosham Sailing Club sailors who represented their Club at the Yachting World Day Boat Nationals that were held last week in beautiful Salcombe in Devon. Some were more successful than others. Also unsure if inadvertently and suddenly, lowering ones mast onto an opponent’s head is strictly in the rules. It was a great week.
