Well. Clearly you’ve all been very good this year as Santa Claus made an interesting trip to Bosham Sailing Club on Sunday to visit the Children’s Christmas Party. Accompanied by a rather disgruntled turkey, Father Christmas made his way to the Club in a beautifully decorated boat sleigh, arriving a bit earlier than expected, thanks to the turkey’s driving skills which had clearly been honed whilst driving our Rescue launch all season. A report on the party follows later in the Newsletter.
So in these Christmas weeks, let’s start with what will happen.
Friday 19th December, Supper at the Club
Andy and Rosie are back from their well deserved break and are all set to cook up a yummy supper for you on Friday. Bookings to firstname.lastname@example.org The menu is where it always is in the Newsletter (for Newsletter new comers, this is somewhere at the end as it is a cunning ploy to get you to read ALL the way through)
Weekly Draw Saturday 20th December
Do you realise that if you come to the Club on Saturday 20th December, you could leave £380 richer? All you need to do is to come to your Club for an early evening drink and be at the bar when the draw is called at 19.30. And to add to this festive fun, it’s Happy Hour between 18.30 and 19.30 when you get an additional discount on your drinks. How indulgent is that?!
Festive Christmas Lunch Sunday 21st December 12.30
This is THE lunch to attend. Andy and Rosie are going to cook the most splendiferous of splendid lunches which will pander to your festive taste buds in every way. Bring the family and enjoy somebody else cooking for you in the convivial surroundings of your own Club. This does of course also mean that somebody else will have to do the washing up so isn’t it a win-win situation?
The menu will be a Traditional Turkey Roast, complete with ALL the trimmings, and if you can possibly find room after that, there will be scrumptious Christmas Pudding to follow. All for £14. Places are fairly limited so hurry up and book now on email@example.com
You’ll need a walk after you’ve eaten all that food and what more beautiful place is there to do that than around our part of the harbour?
Triple D (That’s Double Discount Days, in case you thought otherwise)
Now here’s a gift to you all. On 22nd and 23rd and 29th and 30th December, all of you can benefit from DOUBLE discount on all the drinks that you buy from the bar at Bosham Sailing Club throughout those days which in turn makes BSC a stunningly good value place to drink. Which leads on (in a very professional way – it’s almost as though somebody has planned this Newsletter) to.......

Have you been dusting off your denims and darning your diamonds ready for this glittering occasion? Plans are afoot to make this a sparkling New Year at your Sailing Club. The last few tickets are still available but you really do have to decide lickety split and email firstname.lastname@example.org to make sure that you have a New Year’s Eve to remember.
And this is the week that was....
The bar and restaurant were buzzing last Friday when our R/C House yet again conjured up a marvellous meal. It was made even buzzier by all the people who came to witness our biggest ever Quarterly 50/50 Club Lottery draw, when one lucky person won over £850. Lucky indeed.
For those of you who have not yet been to the Club, please come to see how beautifully it has been decorated by R/C House and her artistic team. It’s lovely.
Cadet Prize Giving and Cadet Disco
This all happened last Saturday when the Cadets carried off a lot of trophies and plates that they had won during their racing season and then they proceeded to dance the night away at their Cadet disco, all run by R/C Cadets and the Cadet Committee.
Children’s Christmas Party
As mentioned at the start of the Newsletter, Father Christmas made a welcome visit to the Children’s Christmas Party here at the Club. It was a shame that the second that Santa Claus had stepped from his “sleigh”, the turkey driving it did a U turn with the speed that would make Lewis Hamilton seem slow, and flew off back to the sanctuary of the dinghy park. It was almost as though the chicken/turkey/dog/driver/reindeer didn’t want to be seen. Anyway it was a brilliantly organised afternoon by some of our younger mums, and children up to about the age of 7 all enjoyed games and food. The highlight was of course, Father Christmas who bored sorry, read a poem ‘Twas the night before Christmas’ to the children and then produced wonderful gifts for them all. He professed himself very impressed with the total politeness of all these children and asked why his own staff couldn’t be that polite to him. Grrrrr.
Bosham Hirsute Upper Lippers aka Movember
Just to let you know that the total sum of money raised by our Club members for Prostate Cancer UK was an incredible £2,157! Thanks must go not only to the members who grew extra facial hair (with various degrees of success) but also to all you people who so generously supported them.
Film Night 5th January 2016
Is there any hope that you might remember to come to Film Night on 5th January to see “Untouchable”? As usual there will be food in the interval and further details on the Club website.
