Without further ado, this is the news!
The wiring has been completed in the bar area, the plaster board has gone back up and the ceiling has been plastered. In the restaurant area, an extraordinary amount of dust has been created and cleared, the new wiring is almost completed, the plaster board is going back up and the new lights are being put in. The next stage is when the plasterer comes back in, the painter comes in and the acoustic panels go in. And all this will happen over the next few weeks or so. In the meantime, the building site that is the restaurant, will be transformed over the next couple of hours into a suitable bridge playing venue. Gulp.
Quiet Thursday Supper 19th January 19:30
You’ll be pleased to know that our chef is back this week and is ready to cook. This was such a popular event last year, that for the moment, it remains unchanged. So, the places will be limited to 30 people and there will be a carvery. Please reserve your places by emailing email@example.com by noon on Thursday 19th January.

Training at BSC
Club member Dick Pratt, has been persuaded to run his series of brilliant training sessions again this year, and they will cover both being a race official and a racer. Each session will cover a different aspect, from being an Assistant Race Officer to racing rules. They’re fun, informative and informal and most importantly, useful. The first session is on Sunday 5th February 10:00 – 12:30 and is entitled “How to be an Assistant Race Officer or a Race Recorder” This is for you whether or not you’re a novice to the bridge or whether you’ve already got a bit of experience. Helping out with these sorts of duties is great fun and as the Race Officer’s assistant or a Race Recorder, the main qualifications that you need is an ability to listen and to carry out simple instructions given to you by the Race Officer. Come along to this session and you will get an idea of what happens during racing. Further details about the rest of the series will be put on the website over the next few days. We are now taking reservations for this special evening at Bosham Sailing Club in February. The menu will be finalised shortly and details will appear on the Club website.
