Well Sunday was definitely a day to be proud of being a member of Bosham Sailing Club. There was a great turn out to support Bart’s Bash, over 80 boats participated in the event which included 27 Optimists, and for eight brave Optimist sailors, this was their first ever race! The Club raised over £740 for the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation which was to be used to rebuild sailing projects in countries devastated by the recent hurricanes. Our feeds on social media proved very successful and there was praise for the Club from Andrew Simpson’s family.
It was a busy day ashore as well as on the water, our new catering team served over 100 meals throughout the day. All in all, it was a great day to be at the Club.
So here is what is happening this week;

This is one of the major events for our Optimist fleet and already has lots of interest from sailors from other Clubs. Full details are on the website and we are hoping for a great turnout from our silver and gold fleets. Prizegiving will be at the Club, there will be hot food available for the cadets (hot dogs and pizza) and for the parents, our Oktoberfest Day menu will still be available. There are still duties available on DutyMan so if you are free and able to help out, please volunteer as your help will be very much appreciated.
Carvery Sunday 24th September 13:00
Our wonderful Sunday carvery continues to grow in popularity so please remember to book to guarantee your place. This is served from 13:00 until it runs out, but otherwise until 15:00. Remember that you need to come at 13:00 to ensure you have the biggest choice of food . Please reserve your places by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org by noon on Saturday 23rd September.
New staff in the Club Office
Finally, we wish Jane Weller all the best for the future as she has decided to leave the Club after three years working in the Office. We would like to thank Jane for all her hard work and dedication over this time. Jane will continue to be a member of the Club and an active sailor, but will not now be available to answer all your questions! So, in future, please speak to one of the new team who will be Charlotte, Georgia and Holly. We are looking to streamline the staffing so in future our staff will be multifunctional and equally able to work in the office, bar or catering. This will make us more efficient and still able to offer the membership the best service possible.
