‘Tight and Bright’ was quite a sight! Does our RC Cadets have a licence for those trousers? Junior Week parents had a fabulous evening at the ever popular adult bop and showed the cadets a thing or two about partying. The sailing throughout the week at Cobnor was quite lively too with a full range of weather and winds. Congratulations to everyone who competed and helped out at this most iconic of BSC events. As it’s a week fuelled by parent power and rosé, you are all now probably lying down in a darkened room.
The prizes on Friday were awarded by the Sailing Sophies who were kind enough to hot-foot it from their success at the World’s (see last week) to inspire our cadets. We are delighted that both of them are now members of BSC!
It was party time on and off the water on Saturday when more than 50 previous Junior Week survivors took part in the Reunion. Much to the surprise of many (including themselves), they all completed the racing and enjoyed the sailing so much that they might even try it again soon. It was followed by not-quite-DJ Si disco with many old memories revived and moments re-lived. A great event, much enjoyed by all.

Ian Proctor Centenary and Class Boat Revival update.
With only 10 days to go until the Ian Proctor Centenary Rally & Classic Boat Revival, entries are well in advance of previous years, with 50 boats entered as of writing, including many iconic Proctor boats joining us for the weekend.
The current Proctor entries include Wayfarer nr 3, Gull nr 1, the Topper Prototype, Kestrel nr 1, some stunning early Ospreys, Minisail nr 1, early Wanderers, Merlins, with many more expected. The live entry list can be seen here.
Not unsurprisingly, there are many Bosham boats yet to enter. Remember this is not just for Proctor boats...!
The three course Gala dinner on Friday evening looks like being a SELL OUT for event participants, but some more tickets may become available late next week. This is Russ's last event as our chef and he is determined to go out with a stunning dinner.
There will be live music and a bookable club supper open to all, on the Saturday evening, more of which will be published in due course.
To enter, see the various sections under event webpages here, or these direct links below:
Sailing entries: remember entry fees go up £10 per boat, as from Midnight on Monday 27th...!

Another special visitor to the event, subject to weather, will the restored WW2 High Speed Rescue Launch, HSR 102, which at 64ft long will be quite sight around the harbour and all being well, will be alongside the Quay around high tide on both Saturday & Sunday. Ian Proctor commanded a flotilla of these in the Mediterranean during WW2 so it's a fitting addition to our event. You can see more information here.
We are looking for beachmaster volunteers (via DUTYMAN) to help manage trolleys during the low tide launching on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. This would be for approx 1 hour after the briefings which start at 10.00 on Saturday and 09.00 Sunday.
If you haven't entered yet, please do so now...!
Has Junior Week inspired you to hone your power boat handling skills and get the RYA recognised qualification? There are two day courses available in November at BSC and you can be taught either is a club rib or arrange bespoke tuition in your own rib. Check out the training pages here.
Autumn, with lovely warm water, is just the time of year to be thinking of dusting down your own sailing skills, or starting from scratch. As a club we are recognised for the quality of our youth training and we want to share that with adults too. If there’s something you’d like to learn or brush up on we’ll try to get a group together and set up a relevant masterclass. Email your thoughts to RCMembership@boshamsailingclub.com.
