If you haven’t been to your Club recently, you should try to visit, mainly because we always like to see you and Bosham is always so beautiful, but at the same time you could admire our new doors or have a hot snack at lunchtime or attend any one of the number of events that will be happening here.

Chilli Con Carne or Fisherman’s Pie: £7.95
Sponge Pudding or Treacle Tart: £3.00
Tea or coffee: £1.50

Decorations at the Club
There are some members of the club who can just take a box of average Christmas decorations and put them up and suddenly the Club is transformed into a winter wonderland. There are others who are more of the woodentop school of Christmas decorators (that will be most people in the Club office). However, all that is required for the morning of Saturday 13th December is a willingness to help decorate your Club for Christmas.
Cadet Prizegiving and Disco
After the Club has been beautifully decorated, there is the Cadet Prize giving in the early evening of Saturday 13th December. There are many prize winners and a great deal of planning for R/C Cadets but it’s always a great occasion and sometimes the first chance people have had to meet up since their sailing in the summer. However not only has R/C Cadets got this to organise, but in the evening there is the Cadet Christmas Disco for over 13’s. Entry is by ticket only and priced at £8 each, these need to be bought in advance from either the bar or the office.
Children’s Christmas Party
Each year Father Christmas makes a special stop at Bosham Sailing Club. Funnily enough, he always arrives in the afternoon when the bar is open and each year, he is special. And this year is no exception and the good news for this year is that Father Christmas is hoping to bring along a few of his reindeer to help out! This is a party aimed at younger children, of an age when they believe that Santa Claus really has come just to give them presents and not because he wants a pint of Ringwood. It is always such a fun afternoon for the young children and this happens on Sunday 14 December between 15.30 and 17.00 hrs. Tickets are £3.50 each and can be bought from the Club Office or bar. Buy yours now so your children or grand children can have an entertaining afternoon.
Training for 2015
Dick Pratt has very generously offered to run a series of training courses in February next year, aimed at instilling confidence in Race Officers and Assistant Race Officers and also a few dates on racing tips. More details will follow.
Payments by Credit Cards
Please note that unfortunately we are going to have to pass on the 2.5% surcharge that we are charged by the Banks for accepting Credit Cards. Now for the good news; this will only apply to payments over £100 and will come into effect as of Monday 8th December 2014. BUT– you can still use Direct Debit, cheques, Debit Cards and cash – all of which are free of any surcharge.
Save The Date
Yo ho ho and a bottle of champagne (am pretty sure that’s how the saying goes). Come to your Club on Saturday 7th February 2015 at 19.30hrs and sweetly sing some sea shanties with “The Harbour Buoys”. More information will follow.
Roast Sunday Lunch & Movember Judging
This weekend, Andy and Rosie served a delicious Sunday roast which was attended by many of the competitors in the Great Movember Moustache Competition. These BHUL’ers (Bosham Hirsute Upper Lippers!) first of all had the last meal when most of their food would be cunningly deposited in the fur around their faces instead of their mouths, ready for them to snack on later. They then were lined up and presented for their growth was judged by a blindfolded Rosie Dewing. Well that was rather interesting and hysterical for the onlookers. One of the contestants, (it would be wrong to name Izzy), dressed up as a gangster with a well groomed moustache and totally fooled Rosie! Another contestant unfortunately did not realise that’s Rosie’s stroking of the face would entail a ruffling of the hair…. to be honest the toupee only moved a little bit!
On a serious note, they raised a fantastic amount of over £1500.00 for Prostate Cancer and all team members should be loudly applauded.
This week’s film was Silver Linings and as usual one of the highlights of the evening were the double sausage Panini’s cooked and served by RC House. This evening represents such good value that if you haven’t tried it yet, why not put a date in your diary for the 5th of January for the next film evening. Further details are available on the website.
