We’re getting ready, are you? The refurbishment of the changing rooms is marching on, the Club boats are being prepared for a busy sailing season and the social events for the year are starting to take shape. All you have to do, is to keep reading the newsletter and the website, to keep in touch with what is going on. (And yes, you DO have enough time to do this – the newsletter is a very pithy publication!)
Scottish Dancing Dates
Due to an administrative hiccup, the Scottish dancing dates are not quite the same as published in the Red Book. All the regulars will know that this takes place every other week and so there is Scottish Dancing at the Club at 19:30 on the following dates: February 3rd, 17th,March 2nd,and the last of the season on March 16th.

Rugby on the Big Screen Saturday 6th February
It’s back! Rugby on the big screen at BSC. And this time it’s the Six Nations commencing with the ever fiercerly fought Calcutta Cup at 14:25 on Saturday. If you haven’t watched Six Nations rugby at the Club before, come and give it a try (am dangerously witty). There’s a tremendous atmosphere and a sweepstake that appears to need a great deal of discussion and a few drinks from the bar, before ANY predictions can be made. The England matches will be shown at the Club and the times will be announced in the Newsletter.
Club Draw Saturday 6th February 19:30
If you win £170 in this draw, then you can enter the Club rugby sweepstake, a lot of times. However you do need to be at the Club at the above time on the above date to be in with a chance of winning.
“Helpful Advice on Being a Club Race Officer” Sunday 7th February 10:00
This is the second of Dick Pratt’s really practical guides in his “How to…” talks. The feedback from last week’s session has been overwhelmingly positive so if you’ve ever thought that you would like to be a Race Officer, or if you think you’d like a refresher course on being a Race Officer, then email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your place and for £6 you will gain a wealth of knowledge.
