Well, this is going to be a bit nail biting isn’t it? Calm your nerves by having a good breakfast here at Bosham Sailing Club and if that doesn’t work, you can always have one of Andrew Young’s “special” drinks! The rugby will be shown on the big screen and is definitely one not to be missed.
Sunday Carvery 9th July 13:00
Club racing and then a delicious lunch cooked by our chef. Doesn’t that sound like a good day? To reserve your places, please email email@example.com by noon on Saturday 8th July.
Bosham Masters 14th – 16th July
And now here it is. All the information and a bit of background to one of Bosham Sailing Club’s most important sailing events of the year. Event organiser Barry Colgate writes:
This is the one of the club’s major events and is an important part of our sailing calendar for all our sailors, and the chance for non-sailing members to help out.
If you are a sailor, you can enjoy three days of racing.
Don’t be put off if you have to work on Friday as there will be two discards if all six races are run.
The Early Bird discounted entry fee finishes this weekend, so it’s worth getting your form in now.
If you don’t want to sail, we need Power Boat drivers and crews to support our sailors.
Please can you volunteer – Dutyman has all the details.
And for all of you, there is a full and varied social programme starting on Thursday 13th July.
Plus, a brilliant raffle with prizes ranging from a £96 50/50 Lottery ticket to cash vouchers to spend at Force 4 Chandlery.
All the details can be found here:
https://www.boshamsailingclub.com/dinghies/bosham_masters/ or email firstname.lastname@example.org
So what’s stopping you – get that entry in NOW!
Yet again we need your help to fill some duties both over the weekend and for the Bosham Masters. And don’t forget that being in a safety boat as a driver or crew, is a great way to get out on the water for a few hours. In particular, we are looking for Power Boat Drivers and Power Boat Crews for Saturday 8th July for CDB racing and the Laser Open and the same for Club racing on Sunday 9th July. For the Bosham Masters, Power Boat Drivers and Crews are also needed on all 3 days. If you can help with ANY of these duties, please either sign up via DutyMan or email the office. Thank you.

Cadet Fun Day Saturday 29th July 14:30
Cadet Co-Class Captain, Claire Aston writes;
VOLUNTEERS AND PARTICIPANTS NEEDED
With Junior Week and some serious racing just round the corner, the Cadet Fun Day, scheduled in the Red Book, is racing of a different kind. Cadets of all ages are welcome for an afternoon of fun on the water, followed by a BBQ on the terrace. Cadets who are yet to do a duty can use this if they volunteer to help run, as well as join in some fun races and challenges around the harbour. And if you have a paddle board or a kayak, please bring them. To find out more, or volunteer your help, please contact Claire Aston at email@example.com.
Last Saturday was the annual Round the Island Race. 2 teams from Bosham Sailing Club took part and R/C Cruisers, Jane Gerber has written the following report:
Our eight BSC RTIR entrants had a fabulous race on Saturday in perfect wind conditions - NW/W 4-5. A beat down the Western Solent turned into a fabulous spinnaker run after the Needles and down to St Cats, with a reach from there up to Bembridge. Then it was the traditional tacking marathon against the tide and around Ryde Sands up to the finish.
Congratulations to John Nelson on Sundancer for winning his class, to Jane Gerber’s crew on True Love for coming 2nd in the Classic Racing Yachts and to Tom de Trafford on Longay finishing 8th in the Contessa 32s.
BSC entered two ISC rated teams for the race; Team A – John Nelson on Sundancer, Richard Barnes on Wave Whisperer and John Fletcher on Merry Dance came 9th whilst Team B - Bob Marchant on Alibi, Marcus Robst on Timoa and Stuart Clark on Blaze Away came 12th.
A big thank you to Richard Barnes for organizing the teams and hosting drinks in Cowes after the race.
