And now some reminders.
Bart’s Bash Sunday 17th September
Bosham Sailing Club always has one of the largest turnouts in the harbour for this event and this year should be no exception. One of the Club organisers for this event writes,
Bart’s Bash 2017 is the biggest regatta in the world and, once again, BSC is all lined up to play our part on Sunday 17th September 2017. As in previous years, the format of ‘bashing out to a single turning mark and back!’ will remain as our formula. The only difference will be that we will start and finish from our Committee Boat which will be anchored in the area of Gallon Line. Briefing on the terrace at 0930 with first start at 1100. There will be 4 fleets – Fast / Medium / Slow (incl Scow & Tideway) / Oppie Gold tbc. So please sign up on the day. The entry is free but competitors are invited to put a donation in the region of £5 per boat in the bucket. All proceeds to the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation with the aim of getting young people of all backgrounds on the water.
Classic Boat Revival 2017
Bosham Sailing Club became a national focal point last weekend for all dinghies classic and beautiful. Nearly 60 boats entered for a weekend of racing and as has become the norm, there was one day of champagne sailing and one day of dark and stormy sailing! There was great sailing, great food and plenty of racing talk at the Club over the weekend with our many visitors thoroughly enjoying their trip to Bosham. Keep watching the website for the official video and photos.
Your Club now stocks Fever Tree Ginger Beer, perfect on its own or as part of a Dark & Stormy. We also have an excellent House Champagne at £37.50 post Red Card discount.
And a plea from R/C House and the bar staff. At busy times, please return to the bar any glasses and bottles that you have been using out on the Terrace as this will help ensure that you are served more quickly at the bar, as the staff won’t then run out of glasses.
And finally, please don’t forget to read our very excellent September Dinghy Newsletter which can be found on the Club website.
