Never in the history of spectacular spectacles, has there been such a spectacular spectacle as there was at Bosham sailing Club last weekend. It was the Classic Boat Revival at its sparkling best and the sailors has two days of champagne racing. More of that later but these are the things that you need to concentrate on now.

The Club Secretary writes
Bring and Buy Sale
The Club will be holding another sale to dispose of all the unidentifiable found property which has accumulated and not been claimed over the summer. There will be over 100 items including wetsuits, buoyancy aids, clothing and parts from boats, all of which is to be sold off and the money raised will go the Club funds.

You can purchase a pitch (a table to sell your items from!) for just £20 by contacting the Club Office. There are a limited number of tables available so please reserve your table as soon as possible. The last time we ran a similar event it proved to be extremely popular.
Stall holders can set up from 08:30 and the sale will be open from 09:30 to 11:30.
The auction will take place on the Terrace at 11:00 with viewing on the meadow from 09:30.The Club have a number of abandoned boats in the Dinghy Park which will now be sold off and monies raised used to pay outstanding Dinghy Park fees.
This event will also be open to members of other Sailing Clubs in the Harbour to enter boats and bid.
Do you have a boat which you would like to sell? You can enter your boat for the auction and the only fee is 10% of the selling price which will go to Club funds.
If you have a boat you would like to enter please contact the Club Secretary by email: email@example.com
A catalogue will be produced in due course; closing date for entries is 12:00 Thursday 17th September.
And in the afternoon it’s BART’s BASH! It’s Bosham Sailing Club’s next biggy and to celebrate this great fund raising event, we’re going to fill the three harbour creeks! Our fantastic R/C Dinghies is running this side of the day and the aim will be to make racing available for Bosham boats of all shapes and sizes. And as this is a “Bash” there will be one turning mark only, per fleet, at the far end of each course, which will be selected according to the weather conditions on the day. The Fasts will go to the Emsworth channel, the Mediums will go to the Thorney channel and the Slows will sail in the Bosham channel. And very importantly the Oppies will have their own relay racing in the Cutmill pool area. The main emphasis of the day is FUN! For full information please go to www.boshamsailingclub.com
And so, at the end of this Newsbook, the Classic Boat Revival must be mentioned again. Indefatigably organised by Andrew Young, this was a weekend showcasing Bosham Sailing Club at its best. Photos will appear in the Press and on the Club website soon and the smiles and the turnout say it all. A big thank you should also go to everybody who helped behind the scenes (including the Bosham WI who provided a traditionally delicious Regatta type tea). A truly wonderful occasion for everybody who enjoys classic dinghies and so next year remember to come and be part of the occasion.
