Goodness. Have you seen the size of it? It’s enormous! What do you mean, you don’t know what we’re talking about? Of course it’s the BOSHAM SAILING CLUB LOTTERY QUARTERLY BONUS PRIZE! And it’s being drawn this Friday 12th December at 19.30 in the Club bar. So, in this lottery themed newsletter, there’s an “even chance” that there will be something of interest for everybody or perhaps that’s just “a shot in the dark”.
Bosham Sailing Club Monthly Lottery 19.30hrs Friday 12th December
The most exciting news about this draw is that for the first time the quarterly bonus prize for ONE winner will be a mahoosive £860! The total amount of prize money being won that night will be over £1000 – now wouldn’t that be a stroke of luck to be a winner just before Christmas? You need to know what a good thing this Club lottery is, because while you may think winning is a random shot for you, as it is a 50/50 lottery you are certain to be helping your Club fund special one off projects. So £6000 has been raised for the Club and £6000 has been paid out to 60 lucky ticket holders. Yippee! Now ........ You’ve got to be in it to win it. Am sure you haven’t heard that slogan before. Our excellent Lottery organiser Barry Colgate, really wants to sell another 14 tickets before the next draw as that will give a quarterly bonus of £1000 for a lucky winner. He says that it’s odds on that he’ll be able to do this because a Bosham Sailing Club Lottery Ticket is not just for Christmas. It’s a gift that keeps on giving. Having run out of clichés, the bottom line is that a lottery ticket costs just £8 a month and this can be paid on direct debit. Full details are on the club website or email firstname.lastname@example.org for a personal set of papers. Come to your Sailing Club this Friday at 19.30 to witness the luck of the draw and stay for Miranda’s Marvellous Lucky Lottery Supper, afterwards. As usual, the menu will appear at the end of this newsletter. So having sorted out your Christmas present problems, let’s move onto the next item.
Don’t take a chance on your Club being festively festooned, why not make sure it’s tastefully tinselled and help decorate on Saturday 13th December at 10.00 hrs. If you can make it please email the office on email@example.com before you make a special trip.
Cadet Disco Saturday 13th December 21.00hrs until Midnight
After the cadet prize giving there will be the Cadet Christmas Disco at 21.00hrs which is for over 13’s. The betting says that Jingle Bells will not be on the music playlist but undoubtedly, Christmas cheer will be in abundance. Tickets can be booked at firstname.lastname@example.org
Children’s Christmas Party Sunday 14th December 15.30 – 17.00hrs
Oh my goodness. As we are a good Office, we have been in direct contact with Father Christmas. He says that although he acknowledges that he has been a bit grumpy over the past few weeks as he has had to diet in order to fit down the chimneys, he feels that he’s now lost a lot of his fatness and is looking forward to a pint of beer. Sorry that should be mince pies. Anyway, he says that he has waterproofed his sleigh in case he misses his landing and ends up in the water, and he is eagerly anticipating meeting all the children who come to the party on Sunday. The bar will also be open for grown ups to enjoy their own version of orangeade. Only the last few tickets are available now so contact the office or bar at the Club to buy your tickets.
Carols by Candlelight Tuesday 16th December 18.30hrs
There is absolutely no uncertainty about how popular this evening has become. It’s an evening for everybody. The children sing sweetly, and many of the adults bring their best singing voice with them. There are one or two people who are perhaps more of the tuneless – but –willing school of singing but it all adds to the charm. Perhaps the highlight is the all inclusive 12 Days of Christmas and mince pies and hot mulled wine. In fact the whole evening is a highlight. It starts promptly at 18.30hrs, so come and join us for a Christmas carolling.
Some of you may have noted from the Red Book that we were going to hold a Festive Lunch on Friday 19th December. Well, we have decided to have a moveable feast, so we are now holding a Christmas Lunch on Sunday 21st December so that many more of you will be able to come. This is going to be the lunch of lunches, with all the trimmings for the festive period and a few extra special treats from RC House. The menu is quite simply a ‘Christmas Turkey Roast’ followed by the usual suspects of ‘Christmas Pudding’, ‘Mince Pies’ etc. etc. The cost is £14 for two courses and as places are going to be snapped up, please email email@example.com as soon as possible.
