With so much happening at the Club this week we thought it best to remind everyone as there are still spaces available for all of the following;
Monday 15th June
Day 1 - RYA Start Racing Course – (Instructor: Matthew Wright)
The objective of this 2 day course is to give participants the confidence, skills and knowledge to take part in club racing in good conditions,
Confidence is essential for racing to be enjoyable so the course involves the sailor in a range of fun exercises design to help build that confidence and to improve skills through practice.
In particular, the course will cover essential preparation, starting, key racing rules, boat speed and strategy/tactics.
This will give those new to racing the confidence to take part in Senior Week and for all participants a boost to their racing performance. This course is open to everyone, not just those participating in Senior Week.
The course will run from 0930hrs with a briefing to 1600hrs, participants need to be rigged and ready to go for 1000hrs. Club boats are available if you wish to hire a boat and the cost is £80 if you have your own boat or £100 if you wish to use a Club boat. Please contact the Office ASAP if you wish to sign up for this course.
Tuesday 16th June
Day 2 - RYA Start Racing Course
1900hrs – Briefing for Senior Week in the Clubhouse followed by a Barbecue (Chicken with salad) and a FREE glass of Club House wine - £10 per person. Please contact Peter Lacey (firstname.lastname@example.org) to book your place(s).
Wednesday 17th June
Senior Week 2015 – open to all members aged 21 and over - 1100hrs briefing and racing from 1200hrs. Full details available on the website; enter for all three days or just the days you wish.
1900hrs – Curry and Quiz Night with resident Quiz Master Jono Prosser – teams of 6 - £12 per person with food - £2 for quiz only. Please contact Peter Lacey to book your place(s).
Thursday 18th June
Senior Week 2015 – briefing 1130hrs and racing from 1230hrs.
Friday 19th June
Senior Week 2015 – briefing 1100hrs and racing from 1200hrs.
1700hrs – Regatta tea and prize giving.
1900hrs – Friday Supper – details to follow in newsletter.
