GoCardless Setup
What is GoCardless?
GoCardless is an online Direct Debit provider with a secure set-up process that allows members to pay for their membership and berthing, either as one-off payments or by spreading the cost over the course of the year via instalments.
It can also be used as a payment system for club bookings, which would be submitted (if you have chosen this within your GoCardless set up) to be taken in full from your bank account at the time of booking.
If you do not wish to use GoCardless, you can still pay invoices in the normal way, using a credit card as payment at the time of booking.
Why do I need to sign up to GoCardless if you previously had my direct debit details?
From 2023 we ceased using the old direct debit system and moved to GoCardless, which is integrated into our membership and booking software. This greatly reduced accounts administration time and cost. All members wishing to pay membership/berthing by instalments must sign up to GoCardless.
Make sure you have your bank details to hand.
Go to the Bosham Sailing Club (BSC) website and login with your details - https://www.boshamsailingclub.com/login.
The login option will be seen in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
Once you are logged in, you will see your name appear and have access to a drop-down list (select 'portal').
If you have any issues with logging in, please contact the office for assistance.
- Once this is done you will be taken to the Members Hub.
- From here click on 'authorize GoCardless' which should appear in a blue banner across the top of the page.
This will take you to your GoCardless Page and if you have not already set up your GoCardless it will ask you to do so.
- Click the large green 'Authorise GoCardless' button
This will take you to a new page to set up a Direct Debit with Bosham Sailing Club (as illustrated below) and follows the format of a normal direct debit mandate.
- Please complete all the fields clicking continue once you are ready.
Once completed you will be taken back to your GoCardless page. Here, should you ever need to amend your direct debit, you can do so.
- You should notice there is a green box (at the bottom of the page) that says Disable Automatic Payments, which means that automatic payments are enabled.
In order to pay by direct debit instalments this box must be showing 'Disable Automatic Payments' which means we (Bosham Sailing Club) can take the instalments automatically.
Your GoCardless is now set up.
You will receive an email from GoCardless confirming that you have done this. This is just for your records and you do not need to do anything in response to this email.
