Cruisers, both motor and sailing, are all welcome at Bosham Sailing club. Chichester Harbour is a beautiful spot to keep your yacht and as a member of BSC you have free use of our launch Emma to take you to and from your mooring. If you prefer a little more independence tenders can be kept in the dinghy park and we have a storage room for oars and outboards. All you need to do is make the time to get on the water!
You can race, either by taking part in events organised by the club - our Nab Tower Race kicking off the cruising season on the 8th May, or by joining in with Chichester Cruiser Racing Club https://www.ccrc.co.uk. If cruising is more of interest we can introduce you to fellow members wanting to head in the same direction and, if there is sufficient interest, we could organise a rally or two within the Solent or further afield.
You may also be interested in further training. RYA Day Skipper, Coastal Skipper and Yacht Master along with navigation and seamanship, diesel and marine radio courses are all available. We are a friendly bunch so if you are new to big(ger) boats our more experienced cruiser members are always happy to help. There can't be many of us who haven't touched the bottom in the Harbour and, in her short life with us so far, our boat Respectable has already had her fair share of time aground. If you're interested in where not to anchor at East Head or when the Chichester Bar really shouldn't be attempted do get in touch all cruisers enjoy sharing their experience, both good and bad.
Throughout the Winter months talks and dinners in our cosy club house are a good way to catch up with fellow cruisers. Past speakers have included Tom Cunliffe, Iain Percy OBE and Dame Ellen MacArthur and once life gets back to normal post Covid we will look to arrange more of these events.
Whether you're an experienced cruiser or new to it Bosham Sailing Club has lots to offer. Do get in touch with Melanie Kent, our RC Cruisers to find out more: Email RC Cruisers
