Cruisers, both motor and sailing, are all welcome at Bosham Sailing Club. Chichester Harbour is a beautiful spot to keep your yacht and as a member of BSC you have free use of our launch Emma to take you to and from your mooring. If you prefer a little more independence, tenders can be kept in the dinghy park - arranged through the club office. Space in a storage room for oars and outboards can also be organised through the Manor of Bosham. All you need to do is make the time to get on the water!
You can race, either by taking part in events organised by the club - our Nab Tower Race is on 4th June and our racing weekend is 16th-17th September. Or you can join in with Chichester Cruiser Racing Club https://www.ccrc.co.uk. If cruising is more of interest we can introduce you to fellow members wanting to head in the same direction. On 24th June we are planning a rally across to Bembridge for the 'Rock the Boat' festival.
You may also be interested in further training. RYA navigation and seamanship, diesel and marine radio courses are all available. We are a friendly bunch so if you are new to big(ger) boats our more experienced cruiser members are always happy to help. There can't be many of us who haven't touched the bottom in the harbour and, in her short life with us so far, our boat Selene has already had her fair share of time aground. If you're interested in where not to anchor at East Head or when the Chichester Bar really shouldn't be attempted do get in touch. All cruisers enjoy sharing their experience, both good and bad.
Whether you're an experienced cruiser or new to sailing, Bosham Sailing Club has lots to offer. Do get in touch with RC Cruisers, Melanie Kent, to find out more.
