Paddlesports Dinner and Talk with Paul Smith OBE

Talk at 6:30pm and dinner at 7:30pm

Paddlesports Talk: Paul is a Navy veteran. In 1991 he was involved in a road traffic collision leaving him paralysed after developing locked-in syndrome. For years Paul was unable to communicate other than blinking, in 2003 he started to come round by 2004 he was able to talk a little and move again although reliant on a wheelchair. Paul realised he would not be able to work again so decided that he would use his time fundraising and he's done very well raising a staggering £2.3 million for numerous charities tackling mind boggling challenges from wheeling up the Rock of Gibraltar, skydiving to wheeling from Plymouth to London - the list goes on. Paul was going to retire from fundraising in 2017, but circumstances saw him determined to row the Channel in a single sliding seat scull which his talk this evening will focus on as he trained locally in Chichester Harbour. Also, at the time of writing Paul is set to take on a new challenge to wheel and crawl to the Summit of Mount Snowdon on 11 September which he will also give some insight into.

This latest challenge of Paul's is raising funds for Brain Tumour Research. The ticket price for the talk will go directly to the charity and further donations of course welcome.

Dinner is optional - if you just want to join the talk that's absolutely fine, but please do book below.
