Guided walk with the Birdman of Bosham!
Local Ornithologist Hugh Baggaley has had a keen interest in wildlife and sciences all his life. While studying Biochemistry at University College London (UCL) he started doing bird surveys and guided walks for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB). Hugh now undertakes bird surveys for the RSPB, the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO), Chichester Harbour Conservancy and Chichester District Council. He also leads some of the Chichester Harbour Conservancy birdwatching solar boat tours. In 2018 Hugh was presented with the Eileen Savill award from the Manhood Wildlife and Heritage Group, for contributions to the conservation and celebration of the wildlife of the Manhood Peninsula.

Join Hugh for a guided walk around the Harbour at Bosham to discover the remarkable array of birds found here. On the walk you will learn how to find and identify different species, as well as learn about their lives and habits. Chichester Harbour is an internationally important site for wintering wetland birds including waders, ducks and geese. Many migratory birds also stop off here on their travels, owing to the position on the south coast. The walk is suitable for all levels of knowledge, and no prior experience is required.
Wear sensible outdoor clothing and bring a pair of binoculars. Meeting point will be on the Sailing Club terrace.- £25 per person
January
In January the Harbour is at its busiest with overwintering birds. This is the time to appreciate the abundance of life that the mudflats and saltmarshes support. Several thousand wetland birds use the harbour around Bosham, from dunlins and curlews to ducks and grebes, so there is always plenty to see.Please book below.
A minimum of three bookings is required. There will be no refunds after 4th January.
