Junior Week is BSC's major cadet event of the year and offers:

  • Six days of class racing in Chichester Harbour for cadet classes - Optimist (gold & silver fleets), Topper (4.3 and 5.2 rigs), RS Feva, 420, ILCA 6/Laser Radial and Mirror
  • Fun activities for all
  • Action-packed social calendar for cadets and parents
  • Memories to last a lifetime
  • Legendary morning bacon butties

Bosham Junior Week is a week long racing and social event that is a MUST if you are 8 to 18 years old. Competitive racing in one of the UK's best sailing venues, coupled with a hectic social programme make this the teenage (and younger!) sailing and social event of the year!

Our sailing base is at Cobnor.

All competitors must be members of BSC, a Federated Chichester Harbour Club or an RYA affiliated club. In order to enter, they must have completed a minimum of four races between 13th August 2022 and 4th June 2023 (inclusive) in the boat and crew role as entered. BSC Super Sunday days count as one race. A-level year students (year 13) do not need to do any qualifying races. Any queries in relation to this must be directed your class captain.

As a condition of entry, every competitor must supply adults to do a minimum of two land or water based duties. Many parents do much more. These adults must also be members of BSC, a federated Chichester Harbour club or an RYA affiliated club. Any non-BSC members are required to become a temporary member (fee payable) in order to carry out their duties. The duty roster will go live for volunteering at 00:01 on Monday 26th June.

Each day of racing starts with a briefing for all sailors and parents and presentation of merit mats, followed by racing and a variety of fun activities organised by the Cadet Committee. Stay informed by joining the BJW WhatsApp group. The daily schedule will be communicated via the WhatsApp group by 19:00 the previous evening.

Social events are an integral part of Bosham Junior Week. Booking for social events and adult merchandise is via the specific social event page, and is additional to any BJW sailing entry. You can add all tickets from different events to the same basket and make one final checkout payment. Note that the basket will time-out after nine minutes, so make sure you know what you want to book. Or make separate bookings.

The Bosham Junior Week committee extend a big thank you in advance for the help, support and enthusiasm of all parents/guardians/supporters, without which the event would not be possible. We appreciate that the event requires significant voluntary commitment from supporters as well as participation by competitors.
