RYA Adult Seamanship Skills (day 2)
Two day course running on 23rd April and 1st May. Please make your booking here.
This course will fully develop your doublehanded sailing skills by focusing on manoeuvres and seamanship decisions. You'll gain the knowledge and confidence to handle a wide range of situations and decisions afloat. Manoeuvres include launching and recovering the boat in different circumstances, stopping, sailing backwards, sailing with no rudder or centreboard, anchoring, reefing afloat, recovery of a man overboard and being towed.
We always aim to cover the full RYA syllabus for each level, but this can be weather and skill dependant. For each level there is a checklist that participants must achieve before they can pass. This is available in the RYA publication G4 - National Sailing Scheme Syllabus and Logbook. This is available free to Level 1 students, or available to buy from BSC here.
Experience required: Prior to attending this course you should have comfortably mastered the skills on the Level 3 sailing courses.
Minimum age: 16
Cost: £130 (members), £180 (non-members)
