Staff Christmas Fund

It has been another very busy year at the Club with an incredibly full schedule of events - both sailing and in the clubhouse. The racing and training began with the cadets blowing away the cobwebs in March, followed by the Junior Regatta, the awesome Cadet Super Sunday series, a bumper attendance at Bosham Junior Week and of course regular racing across the classes. The Classic Day Boats had their ruby anniversary at the Club and, together with the modern dinghies, enjoyed some wonderful sailing conditions, with the regular CDB series and some great events such as the Masters, and the Classic Dayboat Trophy Weekend. We have run our usual open meetings and it is always great to see visitors from other clubs enjoying some of our outstanding hospitality. The cruisers have been busy with a couple of exciting race weekends. And, of course, our rowers have been out in force throughout the year with more regattas than ever at the Club.

There have been some fabulous events in the Clubhouse with dinners, lunches, BBQs, parties, DJs and of course the outstanding Ball on the meadow. As we move into winter the Restaurant and Terrace Room come into their own with a mix of talks, prize givings, reeling, bridge nights, film nights and other gatherings.

All of this requires a huge amount of effort from our wonderful staff who have to juggle a myriad of competing events and demands, and are in action come wind, rain or shine. They do this with great good humour and enthusiasm and are a huge credit to our Club. As a Club we have a policy of no gratuities/tips being expected during the year but as we move into December and the Christmas period, now is a good time to ask that we show our appreciation for their tireless hard work and the commitment that they have shown throughout the year. As is tradition, I would ask that you consider contributing to the Staff Christmas Fund as generously as you feel able.

The fund will be open until 31st December and will be distributed in January.
