BSC Topper Race Coaching
Pick up the skills and knowledge to help get to the front of the fleet
These BSC sessions are aimed at sailors who have been racing in the Topper fleet this season or are experienced Optimist sailors moving up. We'll focus on improving various aspects of racing including starting, tactics, boat speed, mark rounding, boat setup, rules. This will be delivered in the form of briefings, on-water sessions and de-briefing with practice racing and exercises focusing on specific skills. The course will be taught by RYA-qualified race coaches.
For those just getting started in racing, consider our RYA Start Racing courses.
It is expected that students will use their own boats for this training at own risk (see T&Cs). Club boats may be available. Book if needed.
Topper race coaching sessions are scheduled on the following dates:
- Mon/Tue 30th & 31st March
- Tue/Wed 26th & 27th May
- Thu/Fri 23rd & 24th July
Recommended age range: 10-15
Entry requirements: Participants should be racing in the BSC Topper fleet or be experienced Optimist racers moving up.
Cost: (Members only) £65 per day, £130 two days
