Bosham Junior Week is a week long racing and social event that is a MUST if you are 8 to 18 years old. Great, competitive racing coupled with a hectic social programme make this the teenage (and younger!) sailing and social event of the year! Junior Week is our major Cadet event of the year and offers:
- Class racing for BSC cadet classes - Optimist, Topper (4.2 & 5.3 rigs), Mirror, RS Feva, Laser Radial/ILCA 6 and 420
- Races for all fleets over six days in Chichester Harbour and Bosham Channel
- 'Fun' races
- Action-packed social events for cadets and parents
- Memories that will last a life time
Take a look at our photo galleries from 2024 here.
Our sailing base is at Cobnor. Please read our ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS here
All competitors must be members of either:
- BSC
- another federated Chichester Harbour club, or
- an RYA affiliated sailing club
The entry requirement for each sailor is to have completed, i.e started, raced and finished, a minimum of four races in the class in which they are entering between 17th August 2024 and 30th June 2025. BSC Super Sundays count as one race. The only exception is to competitors in their A level year (Year 13) who do not need to do any qualifying races. Helms in double handed-boats must have helmed their qualifying races. In addition, all BSC member parents and cadets aged 16+ must have either completed or be signed up for their BSC club duty in order for any Junior Week entry to be valid. Any queries in relation to qualification must be directed to the relevant class captains.
Online entry will be available from 18:00 Monday 2nd June 2025. Entry is subject to achieving qualification requirements. From 1st July 2025 there is a late entry surcharge and entry is subject to availability. Junior Week is very popular. Early entry to racing and socials is advised to avoid disappointment. All social bookings will need to be pre-booked by 31st July 2025.
Classes which take part are Optimist, Topper (4.2 and 5.3 rigs), RS Feva, Mirror, International 420 and Laser Radial/ILCA 6, subject to minimum numbers being reached. Each day of racing starts with a briefing for all sailors and parents followed by 1-3 races per fleet according to the wind/weather followed by a variety of fun races.
To participate, every competitor must supply adults to do a minimum of two land or water based duties. These adults must also be members of BSC, a federated Chichester Harbour club or an RYA affiliated club. Any non-BSC member adults must pay a temporary membership fee in order to carry out their duties. The duty roster will go live for sign-ups at 18:00 Monday 30th June 2025. To apply for your duties, log into the BSC duty roster.
Duty Descriptions can be seen here Duty Descriptions JW.docx
The Bosham Junior Week committee extend a big thank you in advance for the help, support and enthusiasm of all parents/guardians/supporters, without which the event would not be possible. We appreciate that the event requires significant commitment from supporters as well as competitors.
