Bosham Masters
This year's Bosham Masters was impeccably organised by Alastair and Jacqui Seaton. Despite the adverse weather conditions there were 58 entries, a match for the very successful event in 2019, in the days before Covid-19 and when the sun shone in May.
In true BSC style, sailors chatted, laughed and joked as they paddled to stem the tide and drifted around waiting for the wind to fill on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, despite the best efforts of the race team the wind just did not play ball and racing was abandoned. Once the wind did stabilise on Saturday, one race was possible for all fleets before an almighty squall soaked all, capsized many and sent Tideways and Scows to the shore for some sensible reefing. No further racing was possible. Once ashore, and thawed out, spirits remained high as everyone enjoyed delicious afternoon teas baked, prepared and served up by an impressively efficient tea team.
Sunday dawned wet and windy and after discussions with the fleets the race officer made the decision to abandon racing before a sail was raised.
Results are published on the website. Congratulations to the prize winners:
Fast handicap 1st Michael Camps, 2nd Steve Hart
Finn 1st Dick Pratt, 2nd Rodney Cobb

Dinghy Park Reminder
Please don't forget to cut the vegetation around your boat park space and please don't use the boat park as a dumping ground for stuff you no longer need. As more and more people are visiting their boats, we're noticing a gradual accumulation of discarded covers, old trailer wheels and other items that would be considered fly-tipping if left by the side of the road. Please take bulky waste away.with you for disposal.
