Please see attached a bulletin issued by the Harbour Conservancy following a serious incident on 25th May involving a group of teenagers operating high-powered RIBs at excessive speed within Chichester Harbour.
The vessels were observed drag-racing in the Bosham Channel, creating a significant and unacceptable risk to other Harbour users. A further point of concern was that none of the vessel occupants were wearing buoyancy aids or lifejackets. Combined with highspeed manoeuvring, this substantially increased the risk of serious injury or drowning.
