The 2022 duty roster is open!

Bosham Sailing Club runs on member power, and therefore, as part of membership, everyone aged 16 to 70 is required to undertake at least one duty each year. If you are a regular race sailor, we ask that you do at least two duties. This minimum requirement is aimed at making sure the club can deliver a full racing programme with the basic cover we need. As well as being part of the race team and helping the club function, a duty is a wonderful way of getting to know other people in the club.

There are both water and land-based duties, including some that require no sailing knowledge or the need to venture beyond the clubhouse patio. Find out everything you need to know about duties here. The duty roster is open for booking here, and this year we are requesting that all eligible members volunteer for their duty by 7th March. After that date we will allocate duties to eligible members who have not yet signed up . 'Eligible member' means everyone aged 16 to 70, including cadet members. Please note that we request that members who are not parents or grandparents of cadets should not volunteer for Oppie or Super Sunday duties.

For 2022, there are new ways of ensuring that you can cover the duty that you have been allocated, including the possibility of another member doing your duty (for a fee). The 'Surrogate List' as mentioned in Step Four of the duty policy is now open. Members wishing to volunteer themselves for inclusion on the 'Surrogate List' should contact the Sailing Manager or RC Dinghies. The 'Surrogate List' is expected to be updated regularly, so please check you have the most recent copy before looking for a surrogate to cover a duty that you cannot fulfil.
