Firefly Nationals 2022

Huge congratulations to Paul Kameen and Evie Snedker for winning the Firefly Nationals at Tenby Sailing Club!BSC at Firefly Nationals 2022
The Firefly Nationals were held in sunny and calm conditions in Tenby, South Wales. Trophies date back to the 1940s and am sure many members will remember sailing and seeing them in the Harbour.
Now the fleet is a mix of wooden and fibre-glass boats with a healthy mix of students too to ensure a lively social week. University team racing is all done in Fireflies so we always have a good showing from the students. Racing was tight with no real break away leaders shown by a different boat winning each race.
We managed to sail a consistent series with our worst result being a 5th. It was like sailing in the Med! My amazing crew Evie Snedker isn't a member but lives locally in Portsmouth. If anyone wants to try a Firefly I have a spare in the dinghy park. They are a great boat for parent/child or girl/boy etc as the optimum all up weight is approx 130 kgs. Let me know if you would like a go.
See the results here.
