Welcome
A warm welcome to all our new members over this past month. Please keep an eye on the Club WhatsApp messages, mailings and the website as these will include key information for sailing and clubhouse events this season. Do get in touch with the office if you need any further information and ensure we have your current email so you don't miss out.
Photo Competition
We're launching a Bosham Sailing Club photo competition and would love to see your best shots on the water, in the harbour, or around the club. Whether it's action, atmosphere, or a perfect sunset, show us what BSC means to you! Send in your pictures to the Photos group on the WhatsApp community or office@boshamsailingclub.com for your chance to win a £40 Voucher at the bar.
Helen's Real Food
Starting this April 4th, we are delighted to say that our professional caterer Helen will be providing a range of food options to purchase on Saturday 4th and Saturday 18th from 12:00 to 17:00. Perfect for an afternoon treat whether you are passing the Club or post sailing. No need to book - just come along and enjoy.
Big Spring Cleanup
A massive thank you to all those who came to the Club last week and helped with our 2026 Big Spring Cleanup/Litter Pick. Over 7 bags of litter were collected from the area around the Club and village, making a huge difference to the local environment. See the news item here.

Setting Sail
Our first races of the season start on the 29th March with handicap, Scow and Optimist racing to blow away the cobwebs. And in April we are straight into the full racing programme with two trophy events, the CDB series, cadet Super Sunday, Sprint series and the Friday Sunset series. For full details and timings see the April sailing calendar here.
Looking a little further forward, the pursuit race on May 4th should be in everyone's diary, our summer Telltale Tuesday lunchtime racing starts on 5th and the Finns should have 9th/10th May etched on their brains because we are hosting the Finn Southern Championships.
Training and Coaching
Our sailing training and coaching kicks into gear from next week. Personal Sailing / Wingsurfing / Powerboating tuition and RYA courses for juniors and adults are all available. And we are leveraging our RYA Pathway Club status to ramp up the cadet coaching activity, delivering the sailing stars of the future. For all bookings click here. Contact the Sailing Manager if you have any specific requirements.
Now is the time to start brushing up skills or just getting started. See here for our full BSC Training Calendar.

Launch Service Emma
The BSC launch service, operated by staff member Gary, re-starts on Saturday 28th March from 08:15. Please make sure you are aware of the operating times and the conditions of using the launch, by following this link to the website.
New Environment Officer
After many years in the role of Environment Officer at BSC, Laura Kameen has decided to step down. We are now looking for a replacement so please drop an email to commodore@boshamsailingclub.com if you are interested.
Many thanks to Laura for all the work she has done in raising awareness of the issues impacting the Club, and ensuring that we strive to improve how we can care better for the beautiful area in which we sail.
Dinghy Park Reminder
Please remember to ensure security by closing the gate if you are the last to leave, and to lock it if you are leaving after 17:00. Remind yourself of the conditions of use in the Club Byelaws. We're re-introducing trailer storage, and also happy to accept tenders. Contact the office if interested.
WhatsApp Groups - for Club use
Please remember that our Club WhatsApp community and groups are used for updating and keeping members informed of any important BSC information. They should not be used for campaign media. Please contact the office if you have any questions regarding this.
Visitors to BSC
A friendly BSC reminder that all members must sign in any guests they bring to the Club, there is a sign in book at the front entrance so you can do this. This is an important part of complying with our Club licensing conditions. Please find a member of staff if you need any assistance.
Safety on the Water
Please make sensible decisions about your (or your dependents') safety when going afloat. The sun may be shining (sometimes) but the water is still cold and the weather is changeable. The Club has a Safety Management Policy to ensure that we operate safely, but a decision to participate in any activity, outside of supervised training, is yours alone and you accept the associated risks. As a reminder, if BSC patrol boats are on the water they are primarily there to cover racing or training. There is no guarantee you'll be rescued and there is no cover outside these times.
