Missing Chichester Harbour Race Marks

Have you noticed any race marks missing or not where they should be?

At the recent meeting of the Harbour clubs' sailing secretaries hosted by Emsworth Sailing Club, a range of ideas were shared amongst the participants on plans for the new sailing season and common challenges faced by all clubs.

'Missing' race marks are a re-occurring problem during the sailing season that can easily spoil the best-laid plans for a good day on the water.

In an attempt to improve communication around these 'missing' marks there is now a dedicated WhatsApp group amongst the sailing secretaries , to report any issues regarding the Harbour marks. Clubs will then be aware, hopefully in good time, of any problems with the marks and it will also enable the club responsible for that mark to take remedial action.

If any members happen to spot marks not where they should be please report to the sailing manager who can alert the group.

At the moment 'Thorney' is missing.
