RYA Volunteer of the Year Awards 2021 deadline...

Just a few days remaining to submit a nomination for the 2021 RYA Volunteer Awards. The awards recognise not only our longest-standing volunteers, but also families, committed youngsters and most importantly, those that have had an impact.

With five categories to choose from, anyone from an RYA affiliated club or class association can nominate who could you put forward?

• RYA Award recognising services to the RYA at a regional or national level.
• RYA Family Award presented to a family group deserving of recognition for the impact they have made both individually and collectively.
• Francis Elkin Award awarded to individuals that have made a significant contribution in enabling people with disabilities to become involved with sailing.
• RYA Community Award presented across the three categories for services at club or grass roots level; lifetime commitment, outstanding contribution and young volunteer.
• Honor Preston Award- presented to an individual who has made a significant contribution in time, effort, and personal endeavour to increase the inclusivity of boating, in particular, although not limited to, female participation.

Not only will this create publicity for your club or class association but it also raises the profile of our sport.
