Start of the Sailing Season

Published 08:24 on 26 Mar 2025
The season kicks off this weekend, the clubhouse is looking lovely, and it will be a busy couple of days at the club:
Saturday - Rowing regatta from 0900 - 1330. We are expecting over 75 rowers from around the Harbour to race, starting and finishing from the quay. It should be quite a spectacle.
Sunday - Oppies are racing in Cutmill, Scows and Fast Handicap from the quay. Toppers are training. There's a Sunday roast in the clubhouse which is almost fully booked.
It is a lunchtime spring high tide and Manor of Bosham will be closing off the quay waterside opposite the Raptackle. No vessels may come alongside or dry out in this area from midday on Thu 27th March reopening on Tue 1st Apr. Please follow signage.
Launch Emma will be running with our new launch driver, Tommy. The launch is for BSC members and their guests only. Whilst Tommy gets to know everyone, please be prepared to show your red card and give your name (and your guests' names).
For the sailors and race teams, please take a note of the following:
- Notice of Race - including new racing rules and new Federation Code of Conduct. CDB series discards have changed to fall in line with other series.
- Sailing Instructions - no major changes from 2024, but note new racing rules (some tweaks but no significant changes).
- Handicaps - new rule for BSC and new BSC local PNs.
- Safety Management Statement - please read this if nothing else
Above all have a great season.
