Winter cadet sailing
Published 17:37 on 1 Nov 2021
The main season may be over but sailing does not stop. In addition to the six IOCA Oppie training days and the three remaining two-day Feva harbour racing series, there will be a club safety boat on the water on the following dates through the winter, primarily to facilitate casual sailing by cadets. Depending on numbers and weather conditions there may be some informal racing possible. Adults also wishing to sail at these times are more than welcome.
Saturday 6th Nov h.w. 12.01, 5.2m. Patrol hours 10.00 14.00
Sunday 5th Dec h.w. 11.41, 5.1m. Patrol hours 10.00 14.00
Sunday 16th Jan h.w. 11.10, 4.3m. Patrol hours 09.30 13.00
Saturday 5th Feb h.w. 14.27, 4.7m. Patrol hours 12.30 16.30
Sunday 6th March h.w. 13.58, 4.73m. Patrol hours 12.00 16.00
Saturday 19th March h.w. 12.17, 4.8m. Patrol hours 10.30 14.30
Sailors intending to launch should sign-in on the day and take note of the specified patrolled sailing area and patrol hours. The Risk Statement (clause 2) and Disclaimer of Liability (clause 3) in the BSC Standing Notice of Race applies (found under 'Race Management' at the bottom of the website). In addition, the decision of the patrol boat driver or Sailing Manager about when conditions are safe to sail (or not) is final.
