Bosham Finn Training March 8th
What a great day to be out on the water! With winds 10 - 15 knots and the temperature in double figures it was 'peach' conditions in which to brush off cobwebs and get set for the new season.
Unfortunately Cameron Tweedle, our trainer and UK Finn National Champion, called in sick at the last moment and thankfully Richard Sharp from Emsworth Slipper Sailing Club and Chairman of the British Finn Association stepped in with Jem Drummond diverting to RIB driving duties.
Richard started with a basic rig tension guide which was was very insightful. On the water there were one minute starts and lots of tacking and gybing, not to mention competitive mark roundings. It was clear to see all participants improving throughout the day.
Videos confirmed near capsizes from Nick and Steve and actual capsizes from Matt and Paul. All videos including Richard talking about rig set up are available on request.
The feedback from all participants was very positive with everyone confirming they had learn something. Practicing as opposed to just racing can make a huge difference to performance.
A massive thank you to Richard for volunteering his time which we were
glad to supplement with whisky and flowers.
