What an incredible day! The Ladies had a fantastic tussle with Itchenor and won the day (the gate of hell didn't rob them).
Debbie stroked a great race, Rebecca was so strong and Jane was attacking it with Rachel the whole way.
The boys faced a much younger and heavier crew - 6'6" for the 3 man! Tim in the bow sculled so consistently and David backed the crew with power and good sculling.
Tris was having a great day until his gate of hell opened up as well, however the recovery was fast and the crew recaptured the original speed. Edd set a very good rhythm and worked extremely well for the win, however it wasn't to be on the day. A brave effort from all.
The mixed crew smashed it, literally. Our Commodore in the bow seat sculled very well in difficult and challenging conditions. Lottie was a star and backed the crew with power and consistency as well. Karen was smiling from the first stroke to the last and gave everything to the boat speed and crew. George the powerhouse delivered a master class to the opposition.
The Lundy crews had good rows and performed well. Dick was a star and although the undertaking manoeuvres raised some eyebrows, it was an incredible day for the club and everyone played a great role. A few jars at the bar helped everyone recover.
Fraser and Sophie and some husbands arrived for back up from early morning.
We all missed Jane Weller and hope that the recovery will be soon team.
