Sailing at BSC this weekend
This weekends sailing starts on Friday with Tideset, Scowset & Sunset 5 at 17:00 and Cadet Fridays 4 at 18:00.
Saturday we have the Finn Open Day 1 at 14:00. Sunday is Day 2 of the Finn Open at 11:00 and the Scow Summer 7 & Tideway Summer 6 at 11:00.
Duties this Sat and Sun- Help needed
Please sign up on the duty roster here if you can help this weekend with duties.
A race team and 1 x patrol crew are needed on Saturday for the Scows/Tideways AND 1 x patrol crew is needed for the Finn Open on Sunday.
This weekend - Food update
There is no catering arranged for this weekend as we have the Finn Open, just to keep members advised.
We will update you weekly in the newsletter as to any options and catering arranged either for an event or as additional provision.
BSC at The 2025 Skiffie Worlds
Last weekend BSC competed in the 2025 Skiffie Worlds in Stranraer.
With 78 boats and over 2000 rowers of all ages, Valiant was there flying the flag for BSC.

Sail GP - Portsmouth
This weekend Portsmouth hosts the 2025 Sail Grand Prix. Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July.

Incidents in Chichester Harbour
With the sailing season in full swing and the harbour now very busy, this is a reminder to all members that any contact with another vessel of any kind should be reported to the Conservancy here.
In addition, for those taking part in Club organised racing, if a sailor makes any contact with a moored or anchored boat (other than just the mooring buoy itself), they must do a penalty turn at the earliest opportunity or they will be disqualified (SI 13).
Cadet Super Sunday (4) - 27th July
Sunday 27th July from 13:00 is our next Cadet Super Sunday.
Three races per fleet back-to-back, with a briefing on the terrace beforehand.
BJW Reunion 2025
This year's BJW Reunion will be on Saturday 2nd August from 15:30.
A sailing and social event including Happy Hour, Sizzling Kitchen Pizza, Prizegiving and the legendary Reunion social. More details here.
BSC 50/50 Lottery
Winners of the June 2025 BSC lottery, drawn on Friday 11th July were:
1st Adrian Weller, 2nd Chris Bartscht and 3rd Liz Adams. Congratulations to all winners!
The next draw will be a week later than usual on Friday the 15th August.
Dogs at BSC - To all members
We love dogs at BSC, but our Club rules do not allow dogs inside. We also ask that ALL dogs are kept on a lead whilst at the Club.
Please keep to this for Club safety, as if this doesn't happen we may need to review whether we can have dogs on Club premises.
Use of hoses at the Club
There are several hoses available for use at BSC. They are located in the bin store area, on the back of the door.
Please feel free to take and use them, but please also ensure they are returned once you have finished.
