BSC Launch Emma is back!
Rob and Michael with help from some very kind members have refurbished Emma and she looks amazing. The snazzy new pale blue benches are spot on.

Optimist Spring Championships
On 12/13th March, India and Tom Eastwood together with Zac and Pippa Shepherd, took part in the Optimist Spring Championships at Draycote Water.
This was the GBR U12 selection event and both Tom and Pippa qualified for the team. A special shout out to Tom for being the first boy in the Junior category a real achievement.
If any budding Oppie families are keen to participate more on a national basis, please do contact the Shepherds or the Eastwoods who tell us it is a fun experience!

Racing in the Harbour - What should I know?
The waters we sail and race in are considered amongst the UK's finest sailing locations for good reason. There's always something new to discover when we venture into the Harbour. The multiple combinations of wind, weather, tide and course throw us something different to consider every time.
In this free session in the clubhouse, in advance of the start of the racing season, Finn class captain Dick Pratt will unlock all the secrets and dispense invaluable racing tips on:
- - Tides, flows, eddies / Wind funnels, bends and shadows / Wind and tide combination / Best tracks
Get all this correct and all you need to do is sail the boat fast, right????
Anyone keen to pick up some tips is welcome to attend the session. Please book in advance so we have an idea of expected numbers.
Cadet Training at Easter
There is a variety of cadet training available over the Easter holidays starting w/c 28 March onwards.

Junior Week 2022

'Founding Go Ape and the journey to employee ownership' - held in the Clubhouse
In 2002 Becs (RC Planning) and Tris (ex RC Cadets) Mayhew founded Go Ape, a tree top adventure company, and grew it to 50 locations across Britain and America. 1.8 million customers took part in a Go Ape adventure last year.
In October 2021 the Mayhews transferred 90% of Go Ape's shares and control of the business to their 1,000 UK employees. Paddy Mirams will chat to them about their journey leading to this unusual decision.
Clear out your cupboards/garage to find your boat jumble!
On Saturday 2 April, the BSC Youth Sailing Fund is holding a boat jumble sale at the Club to raise funds to support youngsters to achieve their sailing goals or simply to get them on the water if they would not have the opportunity otherwise.
But to do this we need your help by donating any items 'boat related' so we can sell them (for any more valuable items we are happy to sell it on your behalf with the Fund taking a commission).
Among the items we have had kindly donated so far are canoes, trailers, clothing, oppi parts, fenders, paddles, lifejackets, wetsuits but we need more. This weekend, why not take the opportunity to have a clear out? Please let the Fund trustees, listed below, know if you have any items and we can give you delivery details. Many thanks for your support.
